RE: Extreme Flight 110
Here are some snap shots of my ef110... Bee flying it for about a month now and about 10 flights in I still love it. Just got the graphics on so had to take some pics. Eric at B&E graphics is the best at his job and one of the nicest guys you would meet.Even though this is not the russian thunder sceme I had to do it on this one. THIS PLANE FLIES ALMOST TO LIGHT!! LOL.. Going back and forth over smoke in it. Hate to add the weight but this plane wouldn't mind it the way it flies..

RE: Extreme Flight 110
The smoke definitely looks cool. I thought the extra weight forward would be noticeable, but she flies great with it. The only place it shows is punching out of hover. The mess, however, in a word, sucks! T.

Barry, roughly 28.5-29 lbs depending on your set-up. May I suggest if you haven't yet purchased a canister set-up to look at a set of RE-2s or KS-1060 tuned pipes. Not much difference in weight but a nice boost in power.

RE: Extreme Flight 110
Barry, sent you a PM. Yes tuned pipes fit in the tunnel with very little effort. Maybe we can get Charles to post pics of his installation. He had some really detailed photos posted on another site.
My computer crashed several months back and I lost most of the pics of my 110 Yak build.

RE: Extreme Flight 110
i put twin RE-2's in mine and they fit perfect and easy. plenty of different ways to mount them, but i just used the MTW mount that came with the pipe and glued it in. pics are before i finished it. as you can see there is heaps of room and no modifications will be nessecary.

I'll post some pictures of the greve pipes in my plane and the RE-2's in John's plane when I get home. The pipes are easily accessed by just sliding them out the front.

RE: Extreme Flight 110
I was putting the pipes back in mine tonight. I took a couple pictures of how they slide in the front. The mounts in both planes are the ones that DA sells. It's a simple install. The mounts come over sized. You just have to cut them down to fit.

RE: Extreme Flight 110
Thanks guys...
It sounds like they have some in stock still......I think I'm gonna buy one. I have a DA100 (original) in my portfolio and after reviewing this thread and mine own thrust calculations I feel it'll fly it decent if I can keep it under 30lbs. From everybody's opinion that should be possible.
I'm presently flying a 28.5lbs plane with the DA and getting decent performance. I'd like more but it's certainly not bad. Hover pull out is "steady". I'm getting about 41lbs thrust. I'd love 50lbs....but at my elevation and having to use quiet mufflers that's about all I'll get. But I'm thinking of changing my cannisters for RE2 pipes which it looks like may perk up the engine a bit. But I don't want to give up the very good mid range I have now....but most say it won't be bad.
Anyways......I'm thinking I'll join this club.
Thanks
Barry
This will be my 5th EF plane.

I should have it the middle of next week. Only problem is I'm laid up right now with shoulder surgery. I probably won't be able to start the build for about 14 more days or so. But..............I have a couple of friends (I know that is a little hard to believe) that may help me. At least they will help get it down into the hobby room.
Hopefully, I can get started on it by Nov 1, and fly it by Thanksgiving. If not.......it may have to wait until spring.
Xtraflyr...if for some reason this one doesn't work out....I'll keep you in mind. Afterall....you said it first.
Thanks
Barry

I just ordered one! Got the Red and White model. They said that one flew a little bit cooler in the higher elevations.

Barry,
Congrats!!!
I want to be second in line if Xtraflyr doesn't get it. LOL
The Red Scheme is nice. I had a 88" that color and it was great. Sounds like a good project to have while you are recovering.
Be sure to keep us posted on your build.

RE: Extreme Flight 110
Barry,
Here is one suggestion to consider. I would suggest that you set up your extensions where they can be unplugged outside the plane with the stab slid out. I did this on mine and you wouldn't believe how nice it is to have the stabs off. I even take the stabs off when I haul it in my Trailer. It's very easy to remove them. I just lay my stab bag on the ground and tilt the plane up so the cowl rests on it. Then the tail is at an easy height to work on standing behind it. It's just 4 bolts like the canopy, unplug the wires, and they slide right off. The really nice thing is how much easier the plane is to deal with without the stabs. It balances closer to the landing gear when you carry it. You can roll it through door ways. It doesn't take up near as much space in the shop and you don't have to worry about damaging the elevators.

RE: Extreme Flight 110
cjcyclesrc....
That's a great idea. Thanks for the input.
Now...you haven't done anything special right? Isn't that the way the plane builds, so you can take the stabs off? I know the 88 built that way. But I never took the stabs off on that.
I'm having the servo extensions sent with the airplane. I think they were 36" long. Would that be the correct length to do what you're doing?
In fact....I do more damage to my airplanes getting them out of the basement than I do flying them......at least until I crash.
Thanks
BArry
