It is a kit that I bought about 10 years ago. It even has building instructions.

ORIGINAL: AVIATor-Olav

Yeah, I'm aware of the Hostetler 206, I kinda ment a composite version like the TMMY 182. I might have to build a Hostetler 206 in the future, I'm just worried it may be taking on too much if you know what I mean, don't know if I'd ever finish it. Has anyone here built a Hostetler plane?
I'm building, or should I say have been building the Hosteler 337 Skymaster for the last 3 1/2 years. I'm a slow builder. I love this plane and it has been an interesting build for me. it was my first plan built plane of this size, with my limited experience it has taken me some time to get it done. The plans were well drawn, although I did find a few errors and confusing items. Each time I called mr. Hostetler and spoke with hime personally, and he was very patient and helpful for me. You may be able to get better plans and help elsewhere ( I don't know where), but I know you can get much worse than what you get from Mr. Hostetler.

My $.02

Thanx Jorden. My problem is that I'm a restless soul, and I want to see the thing fly as soon as possible. At the same time I'm a scale nut, and bigger is definately better for me. The two don't mix well in this hobby I'm afraid.[&:]

[sm=lol.gif] I hear that. My problem is that I love to build, but then I get bored or burned-out with the project and move on to something else. I figured that I must be the only one with this problem. That was until i watched one of Dave Platt's Black Arts building videos where he admits he suffers from the same problem. To keep it from happening, he works on two projects at the same time, so that he can break up the monotony by going from one to the other. I guess I'll have to try that from now on.

Yeah, that would make the missus happy, if I brought home let alone one, but two giant scale builds![sm=punching.gif][sm=lol.gif][sm=lol.gif]
Seriously though, I haven't done any building since I was a kid, so I'm kinda thinking I should try to build something a bit more basic before I have a go at giant Hostetler plane.
I just really want that 206!![:@]

Actually Hostetler does sell smaller versions of most of his plans. Scroll down to the bottom of the page under the heading "Small Planes for the Experienced Builder" & you will see them there. They really are not that difficult to build & they are all only $15.50. A great bargin!!

Hello.

Yes I go to Notodden.
Yes we make a video.

I hawe send Tommy a email and he send me a ansveer in 10 h.
Tommy makes some new parts for may Cessna.
Tail section, and all parts including stabilizer/elevator and fin/rudder.
The stabilizer should have an increased angle of attack (increased incidence) by 2 degrees. As it is now, the model hangs with the tail when flying.
He well make this parts foor me in to week, and send it to mee in Sweden.

Excellent video - which one were you?

What is the horse power rating on the engine you're using - for some reason, it did look pretty strong, maybe since you have a 3-blade made it seem a bit under powered. But i'll have a 3-blade also. I'll be using a DA 170 engine. Tommy said my will ship on 15 Oct - can't wait...

Yours looks real niceworking lights, etc...

Again, excellent video...

Johnny

Man, I’m more excited about this plane right now than I am about my turbines:

Jet Trainer
Rafael
F-15
F-16
F-18 (in the mail)
F-15 Twin (in the mail)

Your engine is super large and long – how large is the freakin’ cowl on this baby? Saul said it is a 225cc – I was only going to put a 170cc – now I’m wondering if I should go with a 210cc instead.

What size prop are you using and is it a 3-blade?

Do you have canisters for your engine? If so, how are they set up since your engine has 6 pipes instead of 2. I would like to see a photo of that setup…

I am a JR Man, but for my turbines and this baby, I have the Futaba 12Z 2.4 with same receiver you have…

I will be using Hitec 5955 or the new 7955 all over except for throttle.

I will use the same setup as for my turbines for batteries: two 5600 Li Ion 7.4v via a Smart Fly Power Panel and one 2600 Li Ion 7.4v for the ignition.

I would like to find four full size pilots/passengers or I just may throw in a live rabbit or something

Paused…

Wait a second, I just looked at your engine – info said it turns a 30x14 2-blade.

The DA 170 that I intended to get turns a 32x12 2-blade or a 29x12 3-blade. But the info said it’s for a 43lb plane. Our plane weighs what – 55lbs? How much does yours weigh?

The 210 that I may go with is a ZDZ 210. It turns a 34x14 2-blade and a 31x12 3-blade. I’m wondering if I really need all that. But once you tell me your blade and size, I’ll know which one to get.

Now just as my motto reads: “Better to have and don’t need, than to need and don’t have,” I should go with the 210 but I’m not rich like you or Saul

Hello.

The engine is 215cc. When Wolfgang start to bild the engine he said 225cc.
The engine turn a 30-14 2-blan at 5200 rpm. Thats well be 22 kg. truch.
I yus a Biela 29-10 3-blad. If you put a bigger prop it well be to bigg foor the plain.
No muffler on the engine, 6 pipes out.
Its better to hawe to bigg engine or to smal. My Cessna last year. 150 cc.

I well repaint my Cessna this vinter end du somthing smaal difentring things.

Reg. Johnny.
