ID:	2221831Hi Tom , Here's a couple of pics of my Giant Stick with the 7 -77 in it. Flys it nicely . Should have shortened the nose up by an inch or two and it wouldn't have required as much tail weight.

Default 22x12

The 7-77 is quite powerful. I am using a 25x12 with great results. How about a 22x12 three blade?

22x12 3 blade prop IF that's the only option....maxim, what would happen with 22x12 2 blade prop? Engine overrev?
3 blade on bi plane not exactly look i was going for...

Yes, it will most probably overrev. Why not increase the pitch? This will give you more max. speed, but you could always thottle down. I am using a 24x12 on my Wedell-Williams and the engine is really not impressed of that prop.

Default H9 beaver with the 355cc evolution radial

Hello today I filmed two short flights, I am running a 18x8 fiala propeller @ 7000 rpm, this plane weighs 17.5lbs and the engine powers it just fine.

Thanks it is a semi desertic place. This engine sips fuel, I had almost full tank after this flight.

Default Love these engines

Yes, just flew both planes at a war bird meet last week went well, kinda considering sending them in for gas conversation, but, don't want to add anymore weight!! On the other hand they run perfectly well as is😁😁

Hi SLSKN,

what size prop are you using?, what works best?
Thanks,
Shaun.

<br />Yes a nice kit! I am using a scale Falcon 24x12 prop, engine seems happy with it.

Thanks for that.
The engine should arrive in the next few days, just got a few other questions if that's ok,this will be my first radial.
what fuel are you running, after break in,
is there enough power in reserve for the stearman, I have read a few posts and was a bit worried that there might not be enough power,
last one, is your engine mounted directly to the ply former on the ply tube as standard in the kit build.
thanks for your time,
I'll probably have a few more questions later, would it better to pm you rather than go off thread?
cheers,
shaun.

Hello Shaun, Yes I did not build my Stearman, traded it for a T-28 I had, but the guy I got it from had a G-62 in it, I put the 7-77 in it, but had to make a plywood plate for the engine mount, added to the original firewall, the power your asking about is ok, I would say perfect for scale flying, but the airplane is covered with fabric, and is painted with Imeron paint, plus the guy that built it used a lot of plywood, so is heavier than normal, but still fly's very nice, any other help I can give let me know thanks! Oh and the fuel I use is 8% oil and 5% nitro, was making my own, but know using Riches Brew, out of Texas, good fuel especially made for these engines.

Hi slskn,
Thanks for that info,
I have another one for you, how big is the fuel tank and what sort of flight time do you get out of it.
Cheers,
Shaun.
