I do recall having a bit of trouble riding a Triumph Bonneville home after over- celebrating my 25th birthday. The nice policeman asked me to push my bike home down the sidewalk that last 1/2 mile.
Wally's Indians were all spark on the left grip, throttle on the right. The clutch and shifter were indeed a treat but actually easy to get used to. Of course Harley in due course followed the Britbike lead and finally went over to foot shifting as well, once they figured out the system.
We had a lot of dirt/gravel roads around here and the Indians were very good mounts to negotiate those roads. Amazingly comfortable and stable. Back when Harleys were still hard tail rears , the Indians at least had sprung plunger rear suspension that worked pretty well on those roads. Most of the Harley mass was unsprung.
We have several fellows at work now riding the new Indians. Most of them are former Harley owners. They are all quite pleased with their modern "Indians" I doubt many, if any will ever go back.
Jim, Two P40s? Were they both drama-builds?

Pete- that Spad kit is worth a fortune in my book, but I'll give you $25 if you are crazy enough to part with it. My $20 Comet Sparky kit is due on Saturday. I never built one of those, but your Spad kit sure looks tempting.
We are at the birthday-anniversary-birthday point this week. Each event is one week apart, so I've got to remember our anniversary next week for sure. Today is my wife's birthday and I almost ran out of time to get her card late, very late yesterday. Had to use a bogus excuse to stop by the grocery store to get a card.

Gary, here are the photos of the Worlds Model's P-40, you can see just how beautiful the cowl is, kind of makes up for all the problems I have had with this kit, the covering is painted too, so it becomes more dull after handling it for a while.. if you see gouges in it they came straight from the factory that way.. for all my problems with this kit Airborne model's has agreed to give me a discount if I buy another model from them..

Say, I found my favorite pilot. She didn't like flying the Smith Miniplane.

Gary, I just Emailded Airbore again, I had to tell them to send me a new Rudder and Stab assembly because this one has a bind in it and I can not fix it, told them to (quote) ""send me a new one so I can finish the plane so I can move on with my life""

Sounds very desperate !
I can sure understand how eager you would be to have that beauty up and flying. Wassup? Were the hinges out of alivnment? Pity they paint so well yet screw up the mechanical details so badly.
That pilot has out- lived quite a few planes. Funny how much she resembles a certain Norwegian lady llumberjack I know.

no not desperate, just pee'ed off and sick of screwing with it to the max ! the rudder was not mounted straight, and I tried to fix it but it just looked hacked, so I wont use it
they Emailed me back and told me to put oil on the hinges wow LOL,, too late for that now any way !!
I have $386 invested in just the plane (less radio set and engine), and I refused to put another dollar in it, if I buy a new rudder assembly I will have over $400 invested in it

Pete, I have exhausted every avenue to pay for the Pawnee Plans, I am not going to send cash. Question, is this New Zealand Aero Products/Warren P. Russell legit? I am going to send him another Snail Mail letter and ask for other options or better instructions, the lady at my bank says that most International Monetary transfers come with specific instructions. It seems odd that he will not accept a bank draft, certified bank check or guaranteed funds.
I have not had a chance to run the 120-S DP with dual CHI, it looks ugly with the straight spark plug connector on the front plug.

Dave, I've bought stuff from overseas and never had issues. Postage costs are different everywhere, but that's normal. I may be coming in late with the discussion, but have you tried a credit card? Bank transfers are still a bit idiotic, but you can get hit with high fees depending on your bank....but they are doable almost everywhere you do business. Maybe it's good you are smelling a rat. At least you are being careful.
