acdii, you know, if I could find the prints for the Great Planes 60 size ShoeString I would have you cut me a full kit, but you would have to increase the size a bit

well thank you Mike. but I am not sure, those are the correct type on plane, but the Great Plane's plane I am talking about is a 60 size and has a 62 inch span, and I believe it does not have a scale racing air foil. my GP ShoeString flies wonderful

I heard from Pete again he made this classic Pete comment:

"Hi mike could you let lonnie know that the only radar gun at the field was owned by the 3d heli pilots, they had huge choppers with two batteries the size of house bricks. They used the speed gun to see whose chopper was fastest until i repeatedly passed them at low level flying the cmpro midget mustang, sob's would never let you know what you clocked so i took comfort out of scaring the bejeezus out of them and their expensive electric helicopters. Childish perhaps, but there was a lot of fun to had doing that "

It would give the field safety officer a heart attack but I do see the humor in it. In his defense I will say my pass experiences seem to indicate a good deal of hot shot Heli pilots can be a bit what we call uppity at times and darn right condescending. I believe the GP Shoestring ARF was based on Carl Goldberg's original winning Shoestring design, heck they bought out Carl Goldberg's company so it isn't much of a stretch they would recycle the design and just scale it a little bigger.

Thanks Mike, got a good laugh out of that one.

My APC props have arrived. The 125 tailpiece from Gary should arrive Monday. Getting closer to the big event now.

Is the 115 really no stronger than the 100?
Is the 125 really no stronger than the 115 and just weighs more?
Does the 115 really have the highest power to weight ratio of any saito single?
Does one engine really vibrate more than the other?
Do you really have to sand half the thickness off one of your APC blades to get it to balance?

Stayed tuned, answers to these questions and more in the upcoming episodes!

Hey Pete, I would have loved to have seen those passes under the Helis LOL, funny stuff. and I agree about the ShoeString may be Goldnergs design.

"at times and darn right condescending" yee-up, seen that enough !

You're very welcome Jim. I thought you might enjoy seeing that.

At a fly in I saw a fella flying the GP ARF with a piped OS 91fx. Now that thing was fast! I figure a Saito 115 or 125 would work nicely in either the GP or TN Shoestring.

Loonie, I was just thinking, it would be the coolest thing if I could get that TN ShoeString's cowl around my 100T's heads. that sure would be the engine for that ShoeString !!

That would be a sweet combo if the balance works out close. Fibreglass cowls are easy enough to split for twins.
