Jim, some of the Saito valve stems have pinched waists for better flow.
yes Dave, and I have read as for Chevy, valves forged like that can flow up to 40% more, but of course they did not say at what lift, duration, porting or RPM.

Dave
You may consider a big bore, long pipe tail. The inner baffle has eight large ports rather than six small ports too.

I had a little accident last night. My PFT and Echo left me completely wiped out yesterday. A friend emailed wanting tp know how short I was on covering and I needed to measure tail surfaces. I took out the fuselage and laid it to side, got dizzy and fell back into a chair clipping the vertical fin breaking it in 4 pieces. Luckily 3 pieces broke at the CA joint so I only need to replace one piece. If they don't put me in for surgery Friday I plan on repairing the tail and doing some more covering if I can summon enough energy. I'm driving Rusty my Lab/Pit Terrier nuts because I can't chase her. She is only 2 and still loves to play.

Here is a picture of Rusty my building supervisor hard at work.
I guess there's no reason to say watch the hell out for that covid-19 thingy so i won't. All i can offer from this distance is a picture of the next door neighbours cat squeeky...show it to your dog rusty, that should get him good and riled up on the construction site buddy

Sorry lonnie, i've had to wait a long time too but full retirement is not, as gary said, for sissies so i'm going to use the time to build that combo i think, will paint it myself. May have to borrow some of that AWFUL lime green off dave, i'd never be so tasteless as to keep that in my own paint shop.

Good old walbro carbies!!

And my project retirement car just for the run down to the local supermarket so i can get a parking space right by the front door.

Flawless paint job on that engine Dave, very nice.

Gary, is that BB tail piece in the vid the same as the one you sent me?

Still, sounds great on my 120 Fathead. All throaty and mean.

Not sure if I mentioned it before but it did add a little top end power to my 180. Unfortunately I couldn't use the newer cast muffler on my P-47, had to use the older end threaded style muffler due to tight clearances. Bummed about that.

Gary where do you get the parts to make those straight pipes? I think I can make them but the parts I’m having trouble with.

Lonnie,

I bet it sounds great on the Fathead. The fathead is a good sounding engine to begin with, the pipe builds on that. The power increase is a bonus.

Cap,n , The parts for the straight pipes I make. The flare nuts I make from free machining steel METRIC hex bar stock. The tubes are eithe mild steel or brass. I roll the reverse taper on the end by chucking the tube in a 6 jaw chuck. The tube is spun while a greased, polished tool forms the tip. the tube is then bent as needed. The ring is turned from brass bar for a close fit on the tube and hard silver soldered in place. the pressure vent tube has a flare that I then hammer to fit tight fit against the exhaust pipe and silver soldered in place. After soldered in place, the vent hole is drilled.

Those paint jobs are fabulous! If you want a challenge how about painting someone we know's fat head like a barber's pole?

Though the green and orange could be brighter.

I think it is more of a case of retirement is where you work twice as hard at what you like but for a lot less money.

Me either. Still trying to find out how to make money on laser parts. Shipping costs are outrageous.

I have never tried to make money on a single one of many hobbies.
Most "favors" cost money. Sometimes considerable money!
If I couldn't afford it, I would quit.
So I did
