"Just don't do like Dave and leave it out in the rain."
Hey, I represent that remark.

The HP 25 thread will be right above this one for a day or two. Although, on the other network it's up to 5 pages and I don't even have it yet.

Gary I may stretch my Lathe skills a little and adapt a Saito 30 muffler to the HP 25.

Gary do they serve cans of emu export beer there? i've been sitting at the laptop screen getting fatter and uglier while scoffing dunkin donuts with beer chasers waiting for jim to come back and say that after your concise guide to the horizon site he is now surfing with ease. Karma be be involved because he posts fugly pictures of ex heli (spew!) black and gold two strokes. Your thoughts are invited.

It appears that the engine codes are now included with the engine listing except for the FA 40-a. On a few the later B model has a new engine code. The 150-B is BI where the early model was Q.

Pete, Emu isn't available over here so if you visit you will need to bring your own or experiment with the local brews. Sounds like a good excuse for a pub crawl to me!

I can't find an engine parts list for discontinued saitos on HH. They have all the parts but I can't figure out how to see a list. MacGregor conveniently lists all the parts and with a simple google search like "Saito 45 parts" the proper link to McGregor appears. Once on McGregor I can see all the saixxx numbers and order from whomever.

Pete, I see they are still making 2st motocross bikes. there must be something special about those 2st engines we don't know about.

Dave no offence intended but it's my view that the fa30 saito muffler is the best looking muffler saito ever produced and would lift the hp25 engine looks wise if not the actual performance. That may be a good test to do between the standard hp25 muffler as fitted and the modified fa30 muffler at max rpm, what do you think??

Mike i'll hide myself in a slab of emu export cans ( relabelled covid-19 vaccine ) and post myself to your address in america

JIm, In the search bar on the Horizon just type in, for example: Saito QQ and all things 100 will come up. Now though they've gotten sloppy and anything with 100 in the name comes up.

Saito QQ results:

Thanks Pete, the HP has 8 mm exhaust threads so I'll have to make up an 8 mm male to 9 mm female similar to what Gary made for me from, 9 mm male to 10 mm female.

I am happy with the HP 25 numbers, the HY prop is a former Bolly, taken over by a Chinese mfr.
HP 25 rotary valve four stroke
Fuel===Wildcat 10% with 18% full synthetic
Plug===Glo-Devil 4 c Special for Saito and Enya
Exhaust=Stock
Prop #1=HY 9 x 6 rpm===10,300 HY, took over Bolly props.
Prop #2=Xoar 9 x 6 rpm==10,470
Prop #3=Xoar 10 x 5 rpm==9,020
Idle, so far 2,800, very nice though.That is a 14 oz tank, it took an hour to take it down to the top of the tank bracket.

Two adapters, 9 mm male to 10 mm female made for me by Gary.

Thanks Pete, if I can make a nice looking adapter to use the Saito 30 muffler on the HP 25, I've got it ready. It should work like a champ.

Oh, forgot to ask, what is the across flats dimension of the hex nut?

I do have some genuine metric size hex bar.

Gary, the pipe part of the HP 25 exhaust is precisely 8 mm, I'll check the ID and the mm across the flats in the morning, Thanks much, Dave

Walther, I recently re-built a 180, if I have an 18 x8 three blade I'll give it a whirl. Here it is pictured with a Graupner Grey 18 x 6 three blade. I have not run it since the re-build.
