They might have used 30% for those numbers, because it seems those boys at Horizon like 30% quite a bit.
Be patient and your 125 will continue to get stronger for many many gallons. I was once in your boat.

The ONLY fuel they use is 30%.
Nice to not have to pay for your fuel, huh?

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
And the drama of what fuels to burn continues.............a never ending subject. There's so much written on different threads already and manufacturers alike that we can learn from. What a waste of energy, some can't let go off the subject. If you own a Saito and their manual, no need to look elsewhere. If one stores fuel in hot and damp areas, and an occasional flight no need to complain, dump that fuel because all you have is water. Left over from one season to another should never be used. What ever the experts (there are so many around) tell you. Just my 2Cents. End of subject please.

Yessir, the weather yesterday was great. I flew my 1/3 J-3 Kitten w/ Saito 2.70 twin yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it Spent the afternoon practicing one wheel touch-n-goes. The 2.70 ran like a top.

Out of direct sunlight, temperature controlled if possible, and humidity kept under control. I leave my jugs in the box and store the box in a locker type of enclosure. I used to leave the fuel in a closet before that.

What's the proper way to store fuel? I may just go ahead and get a case. What the heck, on less thing I'll need to worry about a trip to the LHS for.

Oh, may I join the Club? Got a Saito 100 in a H9 Hellcat.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
... another fuel question... I was able to pickup some Power Master 20/20 they label as for YS and Saito. This is 100% synthetic and looks like it would be in line with what Saito recommends in their manual. (it is higher Nitro than they recommnd however)
any issues with this Fuel? $20.00 a gallon seemed like a good deal if it'll be ok to run.
I searched and saw others using this in both Saito and YS engines.. just looking for a confirmation.
Hey, and can I get a membership as a new Saito owner...?

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
I am having a problem, I hope someone can help.
I picked up a brand new Saito 56 GK, my first 4 cycle. I mounted the engine in my 80" Hangar 9 J-3, replacing an Evolution 46.
Trying to break in the motor, I am having a problem keeping the engine running. It will start after priming and run 3-4 seconds until the prime is exhausted. Re-priming equals the same problem, starts then stops. Needle valve is open 2.5 turns per the manual, I have tried it open another half turn and closed another half turn.
It doesn't speed up like it went lean, it just slows down and stops.
Glow plug good and also tight, new fuel, igniter charged and left on the engine after starting, fuel line has all been replaced and there's no bubbles in the fuel. Even removed the fuel filter and ran straight fuel line. Pressure line is a little long, about 5 inches but it has been replaced too.
It is a two line fuel tank and fuel will flow out of the feed line by gravity alone.
Very grateful for any suggestions.

You may have the two fuel lines to the tank crossed. In other words, the vent line is hooked to the carburetor rather than the muffler.
The engine crankcase vent must be open to the atmosphere

If it's Nitro/glow fuel you are refering to, I store my Power Master fuel down the basement, summer or winter at (between 65 to 68 F)
Tightly in their 6 cans to a box. I also use one of these big plastic storage containers that holds at least 6 cans at Comfort humidity
38% to 45% relative humidity. In the summer time I run a dehumidifier in the basement. In our house we have to run aircon. because of hardwood floors. I never store fuel in the garage, because it is either too cold or too hot up here. At the field I keep my fuel can in the shade. It's quite safe to store in the basement. I stayed with Nitro /glow fuel for that reason. I would like to fly gas, but because of the gasoline fumes that leaves in a car while transporting to the field. The misses will find something to complain about, which I don't blame her a bit.

Thanks w8ye, I'll check the things you suggest.
LHS guy suggested checking crankcase bolts and head bolts which I'll also do.
I'll report back when I discover the issue.

Your engine talks to you too?
Grab a glo stick and flick the prop.If it's anything like mine it will settle down after a couple of litres.Godd luck and enjoy.

RE: Welcome to Club SAITO !
Hi Guys
I’ve got a Saito 100 in a Fliton Extra Freestyle (I love that combo B.T.W.) which has recently become a P.I.T.A. Maybe something to do with the temps here in the U.K. just 2 or 3 degrees above freezing.
My setup is: 30% heli fuel, cline regulator, 15X6 A.P.C. and it’s had about 8 Gallons use.
My usual procedure is to leave the glow igniter on for about 30 seconds at a high idle and then to check the transition to W.O.T. Then taxi out to the take off point blipping the throttle, then without fail she will throttle up take off and fly without missing a beat.
Two weeks ago, same procedure, but the engine cut on the take off run. Brought it back to the stand and it restarted instantly. This time it cut before I could get to the take off point. After doing this twice more I finally got the plane into the air where it performed perfectly.
I had three further flights that day with the same problem every time. Same thing this Sunday. It seems the hotter it gets the better it runs.
Maybe I need a new plug maybe the valves clearances need adjusting?
I have adjusted the valves a few weeks back using the gauge supplied by Saito, but I have heard that this gives too big a gap, what should the gap be? Someone at the field suggested the exhaust should be a bigger gap than the inlet due to it getting hotter, is this correct?
I would really appreciate some help from the guys that know.
Thanks in advance.
