Perry pump for ST2300
Hi all,
i choosed ST2300 for my funtana that i will buy on April 2006.
I don't want deadsticks and considered to buy Perry Pump Regulator for my St2300. Should i change the current carburetor with perry Carburetor Pump that's sold on towerhobbies?
I will be happy if you give setup info with perry pump.
Thanks...
By the way, where can i find muffler extension for ST2300's stock muffler ? in order to use it on my funtana90

I would try the engine first, you may not even need a pump. If the tank is
mounted directly behind the engine, it should run fine on muffler pressure
for the fuel. I wouldn't get a Perry carb either. The stock carb should work
just fine.
The muffler on the Super Tiger slides in and out on the exhaust outlet. There
ia about an inch or so of adjustment, and it should fit on the Funtana just
fine.
FBD.

With the tank close to the engine you will have good fuel draw if you restrict the pitts muffler some. The Perry will not eliminate deadsticks with this engine. When you do this you are working around the problem, which I believe to be the carb. I spent the money on the Perry and I only complicated things more. Instead of just having the carb to try and adjust you will have a pump that you will try to adjust also. Good luck!! I would go with one of the carb replacements that others have mentioned. Jett, OS7D, Magnum etc. Why not just buy a Saito and be done with it.

Thanks for your anwers...
I find the power same as saito 1.80 and half the price. With accurate adjustments, ST2300 will give me about 20+pounds of thrust.
what shoul i do to not to face to face with deadstick?

RE: Perry pump for ST2300
I have both the 2300 and the 180 and have had them mounted on the same plane. They both are good engines but the Saito is user friendly and has better revup qualities for 3D type flying. If you just want to fly around go with the 2300. I just don't trust mine yet because of the learning curb with the deadsticks. What I would recomend for the 2300 from my personal experiences would be the following. Go with Jett carb at about $60+ and install an onboard glow system. But by the time you do this and crash 2 or 3 airplanes it would be cheaper to go with Saito. But if you insist go for it. Some like a challenge as did I. That is why I am still working with my 2300 after about a year and a few crashes. Oh, and I will not give up because that is part of the fun of this hobby. The 2300 does have good power 17X6, 18X6, and some even run 18X8 props with tuned pipes. Mine likes the 17X6 for sport flying, it has better transition and revup.

RE: Perry pump for ST2300
The G2300 uses a conventional (no sliding/swinging) muffler. I liked the G2300+F90 combo so much I bought a second G2300+F90 combo. I mounted the engine upright - sort of a 'V' configuration. That way the muffler clears the fuse and I don't have to add weights to the wing tips for lateral balance.
I run VP20 pump on one and just muffler pressure on the other. The one w/VP20, I was able to move the tank way back. Both setups run fine with gobs of power but no accelerated pullouts. The VP20 setup has better throttle response.
Both G2300's ran perfectly right out of the box. The first tank on each was in the air. No break-in on the ground was necessary. APC 17X6 works better than APC 16X8 and APC 18X6. I could not be happier: best bang for the buck.

I have two-stroke engines, but they are for pattern or fun fly type planes that are not expected to hover.
For really critical 3D type planes/maneuvers, there simply isn't any point in wasting your time with a two-stroke. Go four-stroke to begin with and eliminate a LOT of hassles.

RE: Perry pump for ST2300
ST2300 can pull up to 22lbs, my airplane will be a bit less than 10 lbs, about 9 - 9,5 lbs.
What shoul i do now?
2 stroke (ST2300) ? four stroke (saito 150-180) or 25cc gas (brillelli 25cc)

I mounted a ST 2300 on my f-90 last year and I was very happy with the combo, I bought the plane used from a fellow club member who had a GMS 1.20 mounted on it. I sold the engine and bought the Super Tiger. I had no issues whatsoever with this engine mounted horizontally.

22lbs? Ridiculous! Sorry but I don't buy that at all. It may pull it around on the ground or if you threw it off a cliff. I would not even think about flying it.
