TS, having owned a Laser .70 and a 1.80 V-twin I can say without hesitation that the Fox Miracle Plugs work perfectly in the Laser engine. That statement must be some kind of unfounded bias on the part of Mr. Tidy. I am not one to fall in line behind such nonsense. As the guy said in Dirty Harry, "I got's to know".

My .70 rode in this Kombat 60 from the Airplane Factory. The Airplane Factory was completely destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, The owner did not rebuild.

I was only quoting directly from the instructions which came with my engine. Hence the quotation marks.

My 200v arrived yesterday . It is one sexy looking beast . If it goes as good as it looks I'll be a happy camper . Ordered a seagull monocoupe for it . I have had a love for these planes since I 1st laid eyes on them . Those and the single seat ryan . I have the bigger blackhorse one of those with a OS gf40 gasser for that one . So many planes and to little time .

Ah,,, one of the lucky ones. Enjoy.
I wanted to order one in the middle of December but Jon is very busy making up back orders. So I need to contact him at the end of January after he gets caught up. I originally wanted to get a 120 for my Hangar 9 20cc Corsair, but I am now leaning towards Jon's recommendation of the 160V.

I'll try , I got the 200 because it was biggest before the engines jumped into the next price bracket ( if u know what I mean ) . I always get the engine I want and then try and find a plane to suit . The engines come 1st with me and planes next . Does any one know what the double prop nut and washers is all about I presume u use either but not both .

Thanks TS, I have been perusing your site and saw the price of the .70 as 180.00 of your pounds or $222.00. Is it possible for you to give an approximate quote of the shipping to the US. PM if too private. Thanks, Dave

Firstly, I have no connection with Laser Engines other than being the owner of several Laser engines, all but three of which were bought secondhand. I am also an enthusiast for the marque though I am ashamed to say that none of my Laser engines are currently fitted to a model.
The contact at Laser Engines is Jonathan (Jon) Harper. As you doubtless know, Laser Engines is part of AGC Sales, a general engineering firm, and was set up in the Eighties by Neil Tidey. I believe that Neil has now retired and the entire production of Laser engines is now carried out by Jon though I believe that he has recently acquired an apprentice to help out. Jon posts as Carosel 43 on this thread.
Thirdly, Telemaster Sales UK was a hobby-business which I set up in 2008. I sold over 60 Telemaster kits to enthusiasts from as far afield as Serbia in the East, Ireland in the West, Scotland in the North and South Africa in the South and had a waiting list when I closed the business down a few years later. The reason for this change was that the management of my supplier changed hands and refused to sell me any more kits unless I paid far more for shipping than had been the case in the past when I had only paid the standard US Mail prices. So much for the much vaunted sense of American business enterprise! On the other hand, the enterprise concerned was selling so much more product to the American market than to the rest of the world, it probably felt that it could afford to concentrate on home sales. If I had the IT skills to be able change my handle on this site I would, but I'm an old grammar school boy!
If you'd like to know the shipping costs of a new Laser 70, I suggest that you contact Jonathan at http://www.laserengines.com/ for a price. I don't think that it would be that expensive and as the pound has weakened against the dollar post Brexit, you could get yourself a bargain!
A Happy New Year to all Laser lovers and Happy Landings Everybody!
.

Thankyou for the clarification, it's not the first time I've come to an errant conclusion. If anyone looks at the Proctor site, sticker shock will scare you, they have the .70 listed at something like $355.00, it hasn't been updated since 2009.

Jon may well be able to help you out.
It seems that the 70s are now readily available. In November I read that production was delayed by lack of supply from some sub-contractors but I believe that that is no longer the case.

The model is a Ripmax WOT 4 XL, an enlargement of the original WOT 4 designed by Chris Foss. It is an ARTF and is currently powered by an Enya 120 FS.
I've flown all of the Telemasters except the Giant Telemaster and the Telemaster 40 is my favourite.
