Remote sensitivity with Cline?

Running a Saito 150, maybe an hour run time on it. I've got a Cline installed, and the remove needle has no sensitivity. I can go from 3 turns all the way out to 7 or 8 turns with no change in RPM. I'm using the stock glow plug. And I max out at 8400RPM, with a 15x6 APC.
I know this max RPM is low; it idles OK at about 2700.
Is the remote needle supposed to be this non-sensitive? It's spitting a lot of fuel out the exhaust.
Will max RPM increase with age?
How about the OS F plug?

1.....you have a prop that is too small 16/6 16/8 is closer to the proper size
2....If it's spitting fuel out the exhaust you are too rich!...not too lean! .....turn the needle in...your objective is not to see how far out you can screw the main needle before the engine quits.
3...your idle is too high, with some adjustment to your idle mixture your idle could be 1700-2000 rpm....if you need to idle higher than this.....the idle mixture is not adjusted properly. most saito's come from the factory with a very rich idle mixture. you are most likely rich on the idle mixture if you have not already leaned it out.

My mistake. I should've checked earlier. I'm running a 16x8 prop.
Thanks outssider. When turning the needle in, I do get a slight decrease in RPM (I'm not sure where that is) but I've been afraid to go in any further for fear of running too lean. If I was to turn it too far just to find where the too lean setting was, will I hurt the engine?

If this is your first 4-stroke engine you might find it a bit easier to initially byppass the Cline system. Use Muffler pressure and you will find the high-speed needle adjustment works differently.
After the engine is setup with muffler pressure you could then switch to the Cline system.

Yeah, this is my first 4-stroke. I'll try without the cline. Once I get the engine running right, and I put the cline back on, will I just leave all the needle settings (both high and low) where they are?

you may need to re-adjust when you go back to the cline system.
if you have run-in the engine for an hour already you should be ready to peak the engine to see where the top-end rpm's are at. turn the needle in at wide open throttle and let the engine peak-out! but don't leave it there for more than 10 seconds, just enough time to see the peak rpm...no longer!!!....now back it off 200-300 rpm and your main needle is set. now you can play with the idle mixture
...
