Hi,
I have had to do a full system recovery on my pc and since doing this my AFPD loaded and is running ok but when I try to load my add on 1 disc I get the error [-5009: 0x800280b] and the disc refuses to load. I have tried to uninstall the AFPD through the control panel add remove programs but when I try to uninstall I get another error message [-5001: 0xffffec75] and the program will not uninstall. I can however delete the IPACS files and get rid of the program that way but after I re-install I still cannot get the add on 1 disc to reload.
I am running win xp and my transmitter is a JR388S video card is a NVIDIA GeForce 6200 Turbo Cache with latest drivers installed.
I have tried cleaning the add on1 disc but it has made no difference, any help would be much appreciated.

Hi John, you will have to do a complete uninstallation followed by installation according to the procedure at the bottom of this page http://www.aerofly.com/www/downloads.html

Mike , thanks for getting back so quickly on my problems.
I have done as you suggest but I am still having the same problems, I have uninstalled the AFPD twice and reloaded twice with no difference, I have version 1.8.0.17 so I have downloaded version 1.8.0.25 from the website but it says it cannot find the original AFPD files even though I saved it to the IPACS folder and version 1.9.7.11 won`t load because it cannot find addon 1 files.
The AFPD is working fine once I set it up but I cannot get any additions or upgrades to happen.

I believe this same error came up last week after a major, out to the case update of everything, while trying to do the same thing you are. It took some time to find the answer but turned out that the InstallShield file - 0701 - was
corrupted. To solve this problem in XP Pro I clicked Start and Run, typed in Explorer and expanded Local Disk C:\Program files\Common files\InstallShield\Professional\RunTime\0701. I deleted file 0701 file, and rebooted so that Windows
could rebuild the InstallShield file. I was then able to install updates 1 and 2, although update 2 Starflight was always able to be installed even with the corrupted update file.
A very strange situation that would certainly have popped up again with some install in the future. I was certainly hesitant to delete an InstallShield file, but it did work and AFPD is hummimg again. Hopefully you will be able to do the same
Good luck.

Hi Stew
Thanks for trying to help me out on this but after doing as you have described I am still getting the same error messages and the programs refuse to load.
I think some files may be getting left behind when I delete the AFPD and so stopping the install so I am going to wipe all the files that I can find regarding the program then try another install and see what happens then.
Thanks again

Hi. John,
Yes, you may be right about leaving some files behind; I did a very careful delete of everything related to AFPD and IPACS I could find in the usual places and the registry before the InstallShield delete and rebuild. And, the add-on 2
Starflight did not seem to be affected by the problem, which still puzzles me.
If rajul's (Mike's) info works, all the better; I'm pretty sure that since the error message is the same as the one I received, it strongly suggests that the problem is in the same ballpark; those pesky install apps. And although I'm not
finding info about that error message on the Web as easily it seems I did the other day, there were many references to the problem and most referenced corruption of the install files as the culprit.
In any case best of luck as AFPD is a gem in many ways.

Thanks to all who tried to help me out with my AFPD problems especially Mike but it seems I may have to do a complete windows re-installation to get rid of the bug that is stopping me loading addon 1 and starflight but as I can use the AFPD from the main disc without problems the re-install will have to wait until I have more spare time to back up all my files etc., computers! we need them but can also hate them??
Thanks again to all

Hello Mike
Glad to tell you that after re-formatting my hard drive and installing windows again all my AFDL discs have loaded and are working perfectly again, in fact I would say better than before so thanks again to you and all who contributed to my post to help me resolve my problems.
