After a few CoG + thrust line + UC issues is now flying well. Makes me look far better than I am[8D]

Hi guys!!
I have a piped evolution g26 and some hitech 645 servos. Will this stuff be large enough to fly this plane? I'm thinking of purchasing one but I'm all tapped out. I can't aford all the fancy stuff for it yet. Thanks!!

Buzz Lightyear put a OS140RX in his ( see page 5 of this thread )
Flys F3A and IMAC.

I have the MVV6 1.60 (G26) on Pitts muffler in a Wild Hare Edge 540, performs well ( only 50 sq ins less wing area than the C-ARF 2x2 )

Good flying

Sounds like the EVO 35GT with a Bisson Pitts muffler I have sitting around might be a fair power plant for this light weight airframe (3# 12 oz w/ muffler). What do you folks think? Sure would like to find a home for this motor... doesn't seem to be many planes designed for 35cc.

Thanks for any opinions:

So here are my thoughts on this one. Instead of putting a heavy gas engine in it, just do an OS 160FX with a Slimline Pitts muffler. Keep the weight down and it should be a great IMAC flyer. I have no intention to do all out 3D with it. Single Fromeco 2400 maH Relion and Hitec 5985's on the control surfaces.

On another note, you could also do a tuned pipe. Does anyone know anything about tuned pipes on an OS 160?

Hey I am highly looking at getting the 2x2 CA extra and I was wondering the price differences from electric an gas. I have never built a plane this big so hopefully i can get some help and insight from you guys.

Thanks, Greg

Just put a DA50 on it...it needs the weight in the nose. Or else you got to move the elevator servo's upfront like Buzz lightyear with the 140rx. The wingloading could be less, but it's not really a problem, you can still have a lot of fun with it!
Are any of the 2X2's in this thread still flying? Seems a bit quiet lately
Anyway, i had some fun with mine this weekend!!!

The German Comp-ARF site has some pics of the 2X2 with OS160 FX on Krumscheid

PLEASE TELL ME WHERE ARE YOUR CG, HOW MANY INCHES NEXT TO THE FUSELAGE.
150mm, that's about 5,9 inches, it's where red meets yellow on the wing.
You can check your CG by flying a 45° upline (crosswind, so that the wind has no effect on your upline) do a half roll (invert the plane).
your plane should now keep on flying the 45° upline or descent a little bit without elevator input.
If your plane goes up, the CG is too far backward, if the plane goes down, the CG is too far forward....

keep on flyin',

I don't really understand what you're asking EL TEMUCANO, but i think you wanna know if i change my CG for 3D-flying. The answer is NO, i'm not a pro, just a sunday-flyer, i just take my plane and go and have some fun in the weekends so i don't bother if my CG is a bit offline...
By the way, more about the CG of the 2x2 is on page 6 of this thread...

Cheers,

Gaaaz

I have a 2x2 that I put together this summer. It's a nice flying airplane however I am having some tracking issues in knife flight, it pulls to the belly. Invert flight is nice, all most hands off. I set it up with 3 degrees right and 1 degree up thrust. running a DA50 22X10.
wing and stab are at zero incidence. I added a rudder elevator mix to help correct the tracking in knife edge but I would really like to know how to adjust the plane so it will track straight with out any mixes. I'm looking for help or suggestions.

Ijust picked up the 2x2 Extra and the workmanship is really nice. I am new to composite planes, I tried to dry fit this plane and noticed that my HORIZONTAL stabs are not flush, especially the port side one. There is a gap of about 1/16" (the leading and trailing edge) and I would like to know if its because of a mere dry fitting or there is something I need to do to make it flush. Any input would be great.

I think my plane will be coverted for EP. At about 13 lbs she is perfect for EP. Thanks guys!!!
