2 Piece wing, mostly balsa. I do not care if it looks old style with scalloped ailerons and a round tail or new style like Hanger 9's.

I'm going to start scratch building a plane like this soon, it will have a two piece wing, straight TEs, taildragger, normal looking tail.

Two piece wing (I see a lot of people asking how to fit "gassers" into ther smaller vehicles)
No flight surface scallops (Experienced builders can easily add them, new builders may have difficulty covering them)
New style rudder (Easier for those with limitied covering skills to cover it)? 0% (0)

Lite-ply fuselage (Only if it adds enough extra strength over Balsa)
Lite-ply ribs (will be stronger - nothing more demoralising than building a kit then damaging a wing with a minor bump)

It would also be quite important in some countries (Like Australia) for it to build very easily significantly less than 7kg. We have "heavy model" rules here that kick in at 7kg. If it could build under 5KG (there's a challenge for you) - it could be used in some pattern events to encourage "newbies" to have a go. (Yes, I know the wingspan is outside the 2m limit - that is another consideration I guess)

I love my Stick planes and apart from your kits, there doesn't seem to be much choice out there for the larger ones these days.

We will keep all those idea in mind before working on Cad program.

We will do our best to keep light, strong and easy to build.

We have in mind : DLE 30cc, Mt-35 , DLA32, ZDZ40 , Zenoah38,

Hardware; Sullivan horn, Du-Bro horn, Robart hinges, 4 inch wheel, Ohio tailwheel, 1 1/4 " aluminum wing tube joiner , servos lead tube.

1/4 inch 6061-T6 main gear, Fastenal bolt, nut and T-nut.

want to see something else?

For the fuse I like ply up front, from the wing saddle forward laminate ply to balsa. All balsa aft of the CG.
I like the root and tip ribs to be ply and the intermediate ribs balsa. Keeps the wing light yet strong. 2 piece wings are a must on large planes for ease of transport, even getting them out of the house can be a pain with a full wing. I had a clipped wing Cub with a 86" span and it was a pain to transport. Almost shut it in the door a couple of times.
Alot of guys do not know where to start on installing a gas engine, a nice tutorial showing the installation of engine/ignition and fuel system would help the guys new to gas planes.

I know I was intimidated by going to gas but now I will never go back to glow.

I think 2 pieces of medium balsa laminated cross grained is as strong as most light ply I've used and is lighter. I'm not a big fan of light ply. I'm probably in the minority though.
I'm sure whatever you guys at AMR decide will be a good compromise between strength and weight.

Just a thought... You might want to use "barn door" ailerons so that cheaper servos can be used for the ailerons. The price of good servos is a shock to a lot of guys getting into larger gas stuff after flying normal size planes. It took a while to accept paying as much for an aileron servo as a .40 size ARF.

Wouldn't be a stick with barn door ailerons. Just my opinion. Use JR Sport DS821 servo's.

AMR, I am not a Moderator here in Kit Building so I reported your poll to see if a Moderator here can fix it for you. I am making an assumption that you want it to work. If the poll is only to show choices just let us know. Thanks, Dave

I could live with a one piece wing and unscalloped ailerons, would power with a Saito 2.20 or SuperTigre 4500 Diesel conversion.

AMR,

Please produce the 40cc Stick, but offer an upgrade package that has the parts for 2 wing nacelles for 20cc gas engines!

Hey Guys!

Getting ready to design the Low Stick. New style fin/rudder, no scallops on ailerons/elevators. No brainer to build.

Most will be impressed with it. I already know.

Will keep you posted.

I have to say you guys make some HUGE planes, I wish I had something big enough to transport one. I'll keep an eye on the 40cc stick, looks very promising.

I like the 2 piece wing and optional flaps built in would be nice, but that could be added by the builder. Actually if you give a good design a good builder could tweak it just right!

I think your polls not working because you didnt set the "End" date correctly. If you go back in and edit the poll, I think you can put no end date or set an actual date and that should allow people to vote for one of the options.

I like the idea of something in the 2m range. That would put the weight maybe in the under 12 lb range which would be a good power to weight match for a cheap DLE 30 and not require more expensive servos. You might be able to live without a two piece wing at that size which would help reduce more of the weight. A design that could be used for new pattern, IMAC, first gasser, or just second plane pilots could be useful if the coupling isn't bad. Maybe a high mounted stab with a counterbalanced rudder for knife edge? The plan could include options for both full span ailerons or split for flaps and crow. That would only add a few parts and provide for a flexible design to serve a wider audience. I still love my ultra stick 40 at 5lbs and always wanted a larger version of it with less coupling. Count me in.
