At least you have the piece of mind in knowing that you have it.

Every time I buy something, I seem to find a less expensive one, aftrwards.

Tom's right Neddy, you have it and many others don't. Now turn it into something that will put a smile on your face and you will forget all about how much you payed for it.

I agree with Tom and Vince Neddy at least you have it. I have been watching them on Ebay too and dying because I can't invest in the kit right now due to other financial obligations.

Hello,
I just noticed this thread on the sig ryan. I have a fiberglass cowl for the Sig Ryan and some plans from the kit.If anyone is interested send me an email. I thought I would mention it on this thread since there seems to be a renewed interest in this great plane lately.
Thanks,Tony

Hello Tony,

I would be interested in the cowl and whatever else you have for the Ryan - sent you a PM but maybe it didn't get through.

Please let me know price including shipping, and if you can accept payment via PayPal.

All the best,
BigMikeUSMC

Vincent keeps it on the dining room table so his cronies can come by and drool over it!

Hi Again,

Here is the link to my Ryan build http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/scra...ent-plans.html, this is a prelude to the Bryan Taylor P-51D I want to build.

The same as your Ryan I love the red STA Special, and to make matters worse I am a bit of a rivet counter.

I just bought the built model, the man that built it did a beautiful job and ended up with cancer, bought it for 250.00, I asked for the mans phone no. So I could let him know how beautiful it is and to let him know it got a good home!

Eye candy anyone? Curtsey of the San Diego Air & Space Museum. There are 94 new photos in all. They are Ryan factory photos from the museum's collection. All posted through FlickR and downloadable.

The 94 I downloaded were added this week! These were just a sample but you never know who else might be following this thread and building an STA.

It would be great to have pictures like that for all the scale planes we build, we surely would change some of the things we do to get better details I think.

A guy in my club is going to give this kit to me. He says that he'll never get to it, and would like me to have it.

There aren't many like this guy, around. What a generous offer !

You lucky dog! I have been drooling over that kit for years! Let me know if you want any of the pictures I have already downloaded or help in locating the album so you can download them yourself.

I won't have a chance to touch the kit for some time.

I'm messing with an ARC bipe, right now, and then I'll start my Hostetler Fairchild 24.

By the way, I can hear the Blue Angels flying over my house, right now. They practice again tomorrow, with shows on Saturday and Sunday. There will be a gaggle of P=51s and an aerobatic bipe, too. http://www.cherryfestival.org/air-show

I need a little help with solartex. What do you do with a over lap line, put down some filler on it or just paint it the way it is.
thank you

I made sure all my overlaps were where I was going to put down pinking tape. That's about all the advice I can give. I've only done one plane so far.
