i've read everything in Flycfii's thread and looked at all the pics and only found a couple of how the servos are mounted. nothing reguarding the linkages running to the tail surfaces. the plane being completely sticks all through the tail, how is everyone running and exiting the rods through the fuse and not making it look like a ton of extra wood was added. i have a couple of ideas, how to complete it, but am looking for other options. with the servo mounting, i was thinking of running a couple of rails across the fuse. seems simple enough.i was looking at a servo tray on tower hobbies, but it is just a little too long to fit in there, sideways. all i really need is the throttle and tail. the aileron servos are going to be out on the wing panels. also, before getting into this, should i be expecting the plane to come out tail heavy? i build extremely light; just enough glue to hold everything together til i get it covered, but are they typical for tail or nose heavy. alright, maybe a little more glue than stated. like a drop of CA at each joint. but i do depend on the covering for structural integrity primarily. the motor is going to be an O.S. .40 FX, 12 oz. fuel tank, 2 inch "electrics" clear spinner, and standard radio gear all around. maybe an extra servo for an optional bomb drop. (way cool, i know) extremely light styrofoam skull pilot head (also way cool). anyway, the book says nothing of where to exit the rods or where to put the servos. i just want to make sure i get the servos in a good location, so i can use the Rx and battery as ballast for getting the CG perfect, not adding additional weight. oh, and i'm using golden rods to the tail, with little supports holding them on the way back.

i just thought of one other thing. how do you balance a bipe? high wing planes, you keep them upright; low wing, you do them inverted. and can you use the top wing, or do you have to use the bottom wing? i thought i read somewhere, we'll say "someone", was using the top wing with a vertical line perpendicular to the datum line (but at the same point as markedfor theCGon the plan). the CG mark is located a 1/4 inch from the leading edge of the lower wing. makes it fun to accomplish. would it really make a difference which was used?

well, i'm back to building. i had to get some flying out of my system. plus, the wife decided she wanted to work on the top wing a little bit. fine with me, maybe she'll want to fly sometime. pretty decent work, except for the gussets at the trailing edge. i got the mounts for the lower wing put in the fuse. i bought these instead of using blocks. not sure why i think they look better, but they are more out of the way. i'm still fitting the tank into the fuse and the servos up in front of them just aft of the fire wall. engine is mounted, minus the cutout for the muffler. i had to cut out for the engine head as well. i'm not happy with that but...

so i got to work on the covering a little bit yesterday. then the iron decided it wasn't doing anymore. must not like moneykote either. all i was able to do were the tail surfaces and stabs, with the rudder almost finished. bummer. my camera is dead from not using it in 3 months, but if you look at the tail surfaces, that's what they look like covered. i'm starting to rethink this clear covering thing, unless i put a few decals around to keep oriented in flight. DON'T GET ME WRONG... i do have opaque covering for it as well, but if you look at the box art, as i said before, the clear is only where the white is. i'm going with insignia blue where the red goes, and going to cut out moneykote for the decals in the insignia blueand such like the onesthat come with the kit, in the original red. (if that works out) i think it'll be pretty sweet.
