Use titebond once tacked up. It will hold better and has some flex to it. The one I have was built with just CA and the joints were brittle, which forced me to strip it and reglue all the joints.

How did you guys fit the DLE20? The length of firewall to front of cowl is 10mm too short?

Has anyone tried to locate a carbon fiber landing gear for their Ultimate? I would go the aluminum route, but the one popular maker appears to be having some issues. Graph Tech hasn't responded to my email, and the only other outfit I could find is Carbon Copy in the UK. Any advice or suggestions are welcome and appreciated. Thanks!

Ok , I have finally started working on my CG ultimate, took the wings and k&b .61 off the plane and found that the landing gear is wire , cowling is abs , build quality is stellar but stock as per instructions , there are no servos in plane but all control linkages are there with pull -pull for rudder but no servo tray , 16 oz fuel tank is in (nicest assemble I have ever seen for a tank in perfect height for carb ) basically an unmolested but unfinished stock airframe . My ST g90 fits perfectly on the motor mount in the same position as the k&b side mount but would have to enlarge hole for stock ST g90 muffler but would rather use my pitts style muffler instead (which would mean a patch and re-cut for muffler) and aileron's are Bell crank assembly with linkages protruding from top of bottom wing . My question is with the g90 will the plane work as is as I only want to fly scale aerobatics with the plane or should I go in for the long haul and do the up grades to an already perfect but stock airframe ? And btw I can grease a landing on a paved runway IF the wing loading is light , which I think it will be if I stick with the g90 and life battery for receiver. I would love to hear you guy's thoughts and also ideas for analog servos , thanks fellas !

How do you guys transport your Ultimate?
The wingspan is 54". I have a wagon and the back door is less than 48" wide.
Would it be enough to tip up the tail and turn the wings diagonally to get it in?
Are the wings permanently attached if you build according to the plans?

If the rear seats fold down, you should be able to fit it in diagonally. We had a Subaru wagon for awhile and could transport planes this size fully assembled. Hopefully it works for you - nice to keep the plane assembled going back and forth.

If anyone has a kit they would be willing to part with please PM me what you have and what you're asking.

i built a CG Ultimate when I was 14 or 15 years old, it was the first kit I built and I flew it successfully for quite a while. I recently ran across the plans that I stashed away and somehow have stayed with me for the last 25 years and kind of got me interested in building one again.

If you have the plans, its a good opportunity to scratch build it. Been looking for a full set myself.

You can buy them on Ebay. That's where I got mine. There may not be any on sale right now, but you can see a bunch of them in completed listings.

I think you already did a year ago, at least someone here did. Mine is all working again after making new wing struts, or whatever they are called that tie the two wings together. I just need to rebalance it after replacing the covering and gluing all the weak joints.

Default Missing sheet 5314

Hi Guys
I bought my first Ultimate at a swap meet and loved it. Now I am going to try my hand at building one. I bought a kit from some one on line a week ago. I was organizing it this after noon and I have found that I am missing two of the four sheets required for sheet #5314.
Does anyone have a pair of them that they will not be using? I will purchase them from you if need be. If not does anyone know where I can get such an item?

Thanks guys
Clifford
