Hi All,
I'm a newbie so please bear with me.
I just bought a Honey Bee FP MK3 from Nitroplanes. The problem I'm having is that when I connect the battery, the red LED blinks 3 times then goes out and nothing else happens. I can't move the rotors or any other communications with the heli.
Can anyone give me some troubleshooting advice or at least let me know if the receiver is bad?
Thanks
Bimmerdad

As with all Helis turn on the TX first.
Connect a fully charged battery to the RX and DO NOT touch or move the heli while the gyro initializes.
After the blinking stops, and the green light comes on, move the throttle up to see if you get a response.
If not, the ESC may not be armed.
If so, bring the throttle all the way up, hold it there for a second or two ( sometimes the heli will respond ) then bring it down again.
Your ESC should now be armed.
When you move the right stick, you should hear the servos move. Please see:

The green light may not come on if the TX is not transmitting, if the TX is on the wrong channel, if the TX Crystal is loose, if the RX is on the wrong channel, if the RX crystal is loose or missing, if there is interference ( do you have WiFi? If so it WILL interfere! ), or if the antenna is still coiled up.
Are you a beginner?
If so this is not the best heli to start off with, a CX is a much better choice.

Thanks for the reply Opjose,
I never get a green light and also I never here the servos engaging and there is no response to any of the stick movement. I would think that if the rx is not communicating with the tx, I would at least here the sevos responding at least when I connect the battery. I'm I wrong about that?
Thanks again for helping me out with this.

turn on the TX and make sure your trottle is down and speed trim down as well. then connect the battery onto the receiver and wait 5 seconds. Your receiver should flashes red few times and stay solid green.

Bimmerdad,
I have the EXACT same problem on my new Honey Bee as well. I am also a newbie to this and I really want to get my Honey Bee in the air soon. I do not know how to fix this problem but I'm sure someone knows how.

yuo must turn on TX first and then RX. Trottle at lowest then speed trim at lowest.

Well, this seems as good a place as any. I have the same heli (honey bee fp mk3) and the tail won't hold. Any ideas?
I fly many other heli's (King2, T-Rex 450, etc...) and don't have this problem with them. I do enjoy flying the FP around the house, for fun.
Anyway, I also fly a Falcon 40 around the house and the tail is strong and wonderful. I've tried every setting and even replaced the tail motor.
The basic problem is when a quick burst of throttle is used the tail will swing ~90 degrees and I have to fight it back.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

this is true reguardless of any heli. Even with the gy401, with suddent burst of trottle the tail swings. You can increase the gain on the 4 in 1 gyro and see if that'll work.

Thanks for the response! It's really appreciated!
However, I eventually did wind up dialing the gain all the way up and it didn't do any good.
The darn Falcon 40, on the other hand, holds like a champ! Jam the throttle all the way and the tail _might_ move and inch to the right. Maybe, with a weak battery.
This Bee MK3 is just killing me. I've followed the instructions on adjustment to the letter and it's still all over the place.
I even used my Eclipse 7 transmitter and played with adding Revo Mixing! That didn't work either.
Oh well, thanks again! I guess that it might be normal w/this model. Though, I don't see how anyone could do more than hover with it. And even THAT is an accomplishment.

WHEN I OPENED MY HBFP AND GOT IT READY TO FLY I HAD NO RESPONSE FROM THE HELI. I HOOKED AND RE-HOOKED AND RE-HOOKED EVERYTHING. JUST FOR GRINS AND GIGGLES I CHECKED THE BATTERIES IN MY TX ONE AT A TIME. THEY WERE ALL IN CORRECTLY BUT AFTER I REMOVED THEM AND PUT THEM BACK IN IT STARTED WORKING PERFECTLY. THE HELI NOW RESPONDS. ODD, BUTT WHATEVER I DID WORKED.

Your speed trim was max I bet that why the system won't initiliaze. When you power on any electric heli, your speed trim must be at low.
