Default mountain models mini-flash

Hey guys heres my mountain models miniflash................I highly reccomend these kits. This one can be framed in a night thanks to the laser cut wood construction. Actually it takes longer to cover this plane than to frame it up!!! This is a great tight in flying machine that can 3-d with those no-airfoil fomies, but when you drop off the power it fly on the wing because of the fat symetrical airfoil. I'm still deciding which motor...either an axi-2212, or a himax 2015-4100.......I have both laying around. Check out www.mountainmodels.com. You will love how much better balsa flys than foam.........god bless, chad

Beutiful plane. I'm pretty much a gas flyer but I just got a slowstick to play with in the feild next door and now I think I might want to get a a switchback or a miniflash. Only problem is that I'm an ARF fuel guy. So I have no exspeireince (sp?) building but from what I here about these kits that shouldn't be a problem.

........ I am a glow flyer as well......Half my glow planes were sold and the other half just sets there.....These electircs to me are just so much more convenient and less hassle. I am a horrible builder, even a bad arf builder, all I built was glow arfs as well, but these little laser cut kits are easy enough for me with my skills to build.. It takes longer to cover, than to frame the bones up!! Get this plane you will love it. And when your done you will be proud of it, because your hands built it!!! Thats somthing and arf cant do and plus you dont have to go with the arf style covering, go with what you personnally like. In my opinion I dont even reccomend park flyer arf's....the kits can be built lighter, and weight due to the weight of park flyer gear is a big concern. Hope this help.....good luck!!! God bless, chad

It is a Norvel .061.

The engine actually weighs less than a GWS motor with gears. I added a 1 inch block of wood from a 1 x 6 to the nose to act as a firewall and to get a better balance by pushing the motor forward. The Mini-Flash is a little bit tail heavy. Without fuel it weighs 15 oz. It has enough power to take it vertical at almost WOT. I can hang on the prop - but I am not very good at it yet.

Flying characteristcs are exactly as you described Tailragger21. Also, I really like your covering job!

I haven't flown the MiniFlash. But I have had 2 Switchbacks. Great flyer and super fast and easy to build. It can at times go together faster then a lot of ARFS. I would also be verry sure that the MiniFlash is also a great flyer. Everything I have bought from Mountain Models has been great. And thier service is first rate. I was a long time glow flyer. I now have nothing but electric and have no desire to go back to glow.
If you try either of those you should be happy with them. Neither is a first plane but the Switchback has been used many times as an aileron trainer and it doesn't get boring.
And since you have experience already you will get into the fun that much sooner!
Good luck.
Wes
