RE: 4 Stroke jam nuts
I am guessing the locknuts are for the screws holding the engines to the mount.
Use the "Nylock" lock nuts. They will not vibrate loose. I purchase mine from an industrial fastener supplier.

I don't think you're going to find the true factory style Jam nuts with the sleeve on the end to fit inside the larger nut at Lowe's or Home Depot. That said, simply adding a second regular nut for safety to avoid throwing props should work and this should be available at any hardware store.

That is what I was thinking also.

RE: 4 Stroke jam nuts
I fly a lot of 4 stroke engines and have never used a jam nut or lost a prop yet.
Most people that throw props are over propping the engine and using to high of nitro to compensate.

Your Lowes and other hardware stores are sure different than the ones I have access to. If your needing the lock nuts used on the prop shaft, you will need metric nuts. Saito nuts are easiest to obtain right from Horizon and the OS's can be had from Hobby people if you can find the size and buy the magnum equivalent.

RE: 4 Stroke jam nuts
I would try to get hardened steel rather than standard hardware grade.
Lowes web site only lists one M7 nut. At 68 cents for 5 nuts they are probably not hardened steel. The store hopefully has a better selection. Metric high strength is called Class 10 Alloy Steel.
They may or may not have the 5/16 nuts in Grade 8 or Grade C. According to McMaster-Carr, grade 8 and C are equivalent.
If Lowes doesn't have what you need, try an auto parts store. Ask a counter guy because they often have bins in the back and the selection/price is usually a lot better than the little packages hanging on the racks.
