Ok so i go my 24"x11" hull built and i got it powered up with dualsky 1770kv outrunner, 7x5 apc thin prop, and 2200mah 11.1 lipos. Its got good power but with the motor being high its wanting to plow really bad. Should i add weight to the rear to keep the thrust from wanting to lift the back up? It has a few degrees of up thrust built into it but it wasnt enough. Also does anyone have any suggestions on motors? Any other help would be greatly apprecieated also.....

No i do not have any vid's, but what the boat is doing, is its wanting to push it up on to the curve on the bottom of the hull. and it barely wants to go forward, it just picks the rear up about 1/2 and inch.

are you getting any speed? I built one that no matter if it had a .25 or a .61 it would not do anything at best 15mph.
Is this boat filled with foam? Can you lower the engine? Can you cut into the deck to lower everything?

Everything is as low as it can go, its not filled with foam other then where the gorilla glue foamed up pretty good. And after i bump it to get it moving, at wide open im gettin speed slower then walking speed of a toddler! lol but if i use one finger and slightly lift up on the front it wants to take off. thats why i was thinking about just adding weight to the back.

Check your balance point, mount the engine neutral, this gives you a base to work from. Try these steps first. If no luck, lower the none prop side of the engine and record each adjustment as you go along. By lowering the non prop side, this will raise the bow up.

The balance point should be between 30% - 35% from the stern. On a level surface use a small dowel or like object and use it to move your balance point to were you need it. Dennis

I had the same problem with my electric on grass.
Eventually I came to the conclusion there was just too much friction on the bow so the stern just lifted then when I gave it a nudge it would suddenly take off then flip. When the stern lifts the angle of the motor pushes the bow into the ground further making even more friction.
Try to angle the motor down a bit so its pushing down slightly on the stern.
Hope this helps

Just seen the post above mine about this is ground running.
Get some good paint, something that dries hard, good automotive. paint the bottom, let cure, then wax, with car wax.

First mount everything on the boat. Set your balance point. If it is stern heavy move the heaviest thing you can forward and try again. Once you get the balance point set, try running it again. If it still plows try raising the end of the motor that the prop is mounted to. The other end of the motor is the NON prop end. If that does not work, shoot the @#$% thing. Just kidding. You may have to move the B.P. one way or the other to fix it. Do not go more than a few degrees with the motor above or below level or it could affect the handling. Dennis
