What is a very small amount and how long was it left?

I hope someone has an answer for him as this has been one of my concerns as well. (how long can you and how "empty/dry" does it have to be?)

If you always leave fuel in the tank i think the nitro or something else in the tank will destroy the rubber o-ring

ya the nitro is bad for rubber and plastic

dont spill any on the brake. upgrade to a metal one if you can.

once again i will profess my love for this cheap buggy. $1.99 for two front knuckles. how can you go wrong. and my engine has been very reliable. having to tune it every time i run it is horrible. but other than that it fires up great.

CHARGING THE BATTERIES IN THE TRANSMITTER

Can I charge the Batteries in the Transmitter with an adapter like this? http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=family

It says for 10V. THe 8aa's would be 9.6v. And there is a small plug outlet on the transmitter that I can't think would be for anything else.

It's kind of a pain to take them out and put them back in

THanks

Only charge batteries in the transmiter with the charger supplied. Using a different charger with your transmiter might damage it. It doesnt take a lot to take them out and charge them in a battery charger.

There wasn't one supplied. It's the smartech one with the copper/gold rim tire as the control.

yea, there is a little round port for a charger in the smartech controller (the one with the gold rim and tyre for the digital steering control on the controller). The port is right next to the on/off switch on the side

Yep, there is a port but no charger. Did anyone else get a charger for it?

Expensive!! as for the parts from the shop, they will probably buy parts from www.excelhobby.com and then beef up the price.

OK - Please help!

It seems like my car is only getting harder and harder to start. This last time it took about 50 pulls to the starter cord to get it to run. Once it does it seems to start up better but not always. When I first got it it took a few pulls

My air filter is clean.

The idle is set good

The main needle and micro needles I'm not sure of.

I guess the things I'm wondering about is -

Am I priming enough fuel to the engine? I pump it just till it gets to the carb and then pump once more. I have been afraid of flooding it

OR - is the cord not working right? It seems when I first got it it was very tough to pull at times. Now at the toughest point it is just enough to make it "grind" a few times (a short gurgle sound almost or clearing your throat.) Is this not enough resistance and do I need to change or clean the bearing or whatever it is?

The glow plug is new and getting hot enough (I even checked the old one and it glowed right away so the new one should be fine).

Please hlep - I am gettin gtired of pulling 50 times + to get this thing going

Thanks again guys

One other thing. I got this fuel filter http://www.globalhobby.com/public/xt...ery/148051.asp

How do I know which way to install it? It didn't say in any kind of directions. The car ran either way. The inside looks something like this image

trpastor - Check your glow plug, even if its new, it could still not get hot enough because the coil inside might be different to your old 1. So put in your old glow plug and try it. As for the hard pull starting, you might be flooding your engine.

abray84 - Do you mean you've broken an A-arm? anyway here you go http://www.excelhobby.com/excel_hobby_024.htm

trapstor- is your cooling head all the way on, because that happened to me and it wouldn't start for a very long time. My manual says pump fuel to the carb. and then pump twice more. you can always pull the throttle back spray some wd40 in to help ignite the engine, it might work.

e_v- i will try and post the pages from the manual this weekend. You should also see if your controller is on reverse because when you are pulling the throttle it is just hitting the brake causing it to die, it happened to me.

trapstor- sorry, spray the wd40 in to the carb when you are pulling on the throttle, and only do it when its not starting or else when you spray it while the engines running it might make a big ball of flame
