Hey thanks trpastor!

I actually just ended up buying another of the same engine that came in the car -> http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=6024551674

I figure this way I know I'm not gonna have any fitment issues and will be able to get this little bugger up and running ASAP.

Hopefully my next attempt will go a little smoother, lol.

Hey Guys

Now I need some help. Can anyone please tell me when I replace the steering servo, do I need to remove the ENTIRE top chasis or can I somehow disconnect the servo without doing all that?

Also - I"ve never done this - does anyone know of an article telling how to replace servos?

Thanks

o no DJpoop! What a rip $50 for a smartech engine. And for trpa, you have to take off the top chassis, its only 6 screws.

and to replace ur servo, just unscrew it , and unplug it, and plug in your new one, and screw it in, and screw the servo arm back on - easy

So I've read in some of the other posts that people have modified their smartech's and gotten higher speed by messing with the gearing, and also a tuned pipe etc.

Can someone give me some idea of how you would/ what it means to adjust the gearing?

Also - I saw an aritcle about tuning a pipe, I guess, with a dremel tool to make it a little wider and smoother to create a more efficient air stream. Is this something you can do to improve the smartech as well?

that kind of thing works on all engines. you would do that to the header, dont go too deep or you could make it very weak. If you still have the nylon muffler you could take out the plastic disc thats inside. If you dont mind spending a few dollars then you could also get yourself a nicely polished aluminum pipe.

If I got the polished metal muffler would I get that specifically to fit the smartech or any 1:10th scale buggy?

any 1/10th pipe will fit and be an improvement, some companies make them for top speed or high torque or a combination of both. the only draw back is that the car will be alot louder with a metal pipe.

MINT!!!! A Uk supplier, and after comparing prices, its just as cheap as www.excelhobby.com, but instead of waiting a week for delivery, it will only take 3-4days. The site is so much better aswell. They have good pictures showing what they sell.

Please help.

I have a few questions that need answering

1) - When I pull the pull start, I am getting really only one good click. After every few pulls it is getting 3-4 like it usually should (like it's turing over sound)

2) - Even when I flood it, it is still fairly easy to pull the string. Does this mean I am losing compression? The engine is shot?

3) - I am seeing a lot of smoke coming from not just the muffler but the edges of the egine (I guess maybe at the head pipe, and maybe in other places where the pieces of the crankcase come together via screws. IS this normal to have a decent amount of spray off all around the engine?

4) - I am getting air in the fuel line. I guess it could either be from the primer or from the fuel filter I have on or from the hose. The hose I got was slightly looser than the original - but the LHS said the fuel line is all the same diameter. Is that true or is there 1/10 and 1/8th sizes?

I guess thats it for now.

Thanks
