I finally placed my parts order through excelhobby.com (thanks guys) who seem to be located in New york state, according to their area code... They use Paypal secured payment, so I should be getting the parts within a few days.

One of the parts I ordered was the 'Carson' buggy manual, which is supposed to be the original 'Smartech Speedy Tiger/Winner Sport/Speedmaster VH-X5'. I did this because the part numbers on their website are nothing like the manual I got with my buggy. I think it was only a couple bucks or so... It is in the list of spare parts for the 10341, 10342, and 10343 cars. They also sell a two speed transmission for $19.99 for those with the single speed, 'Speedy Tiger'.

what we need is a website dedicated to this disgusting addiction known as a winner-sport. atleast we can categorize what works for replacement parts. list what resources we've come across to make our cars a lil more reliable and still maintain the forum. Even a list of cars wirh what mods. so when i burn my clutch like i did i look up andy's car and see oh look at that he has yadda yadda clucth and he says it great. so i order it. and zach has these rims so i order a set.

i dunno. this list thing we've tried is on its third life already.

oh ya don't ask me to do it. i'm to lazy. i'm just throwin the idea out there.

Today i decided to drive my winner sport, it has not been driven in about 2 -3 weeks, and it started first pull. After driving it for a while i realised the shocks need re filling will oil, and the clutch bearing needs re-greasing.

How would I get to the clutch bearing, and can it be done without touching the allen key bolt on the end which is supposed to adjust gear shift timing.

Thanks

Jake

well your wrong! The screw at the end holds the clutch bell on. You need to take off the fuel tank and then that screw, then the bell should come off.

The comment on removing the clutch bell.. Who said that allen head screw was for adjusting shift timing? I never heard of that before... All the clutch does is allow the engine to idle without driving forward.
I would think any shift adjustments would have to be made at the transmission??? Different springs?

I found what i was looking for about the gear shift timing on the winner sport

ORIGINAL: andyb178

there's a hole at the front of the small cog hold that cog still, then rotate the larger cog you will see the bearing inside the small cog turning, keep turning until you see the adjustment screw which you can adjust with a Allen key. This shortens the shift to second gear or holds first gear longer depending on how you want the car set up.
I though i read it somewhere, i must have got confused about the allen key screws

does anyone know which way to adjust the tranny shift timing screw? a statement like - "clockwise turn of the screw holds first gear longer" - would be helpful. (I don't know if that statement is true, just asking) thanks!

Engine upgrades are determined on how much you want to spend. But since your new the best thing to do is: install a failsafe and either buy an os carb (good carbaurator ask you local hobby shop about it) or leave your engine standard.

Read page 14

I think clockwise shorterns the gear and anti clockwise holds the gear longer
