I just wanted to let you know that when you type in caps, it is like you are shouting. I learned that lesson a few weeks ago. We all understand that you were angry, but all you needed to say was that it makes you really mad. I also would not start a post shouting at everyone when you have only been a member for 2 days. I understand that you are new to the forums, so this time you are forgiven.
I am not really sure about the whole brushless, or brushed thing. But I am learning thru this thread. I too would like to see the difference, so if someone has both and can take some viedo. Then some of us who are still just getting into the hobby can see how they both perform. Maybe then opinions can made with straight facts. I owned a Emaxx that was brushed. But I really don't know any different then if it would have been brushless. I only owned one electric, before I went nitro.

Can you imagine a newby buying this and showing up at the track to run in novice class? And someone tells him "hey bud that runs in MOD truck".
I think this whole brushless industry could clean up its act a little bit. I would like to see someone market a brushless system that "truly" is on a level playing field with a 27 turn motor. Then maybe ROAR could entertainer the notion of a "stock" brushless system.

lol i think the brushless stock motors or brushless motors with stock settings is a bit faster then any 27t brushed motor.thats why they dont alow them.

if you have in your possesion any brushed motor that belongs to you is that not properly owning one, I cant really see the difference between owning, and properly owning one. You either own it or you dont..

brushed you could technically run an unlimited ammount of cells but it would burn up you commutator...
and a brushed motor of an 8 turn value and a brushless motor rated as an 8 turn value wil ALWAYSE go faster because it is what's called a floating magnet... nothing conacts the rotor but the bearings and pinion everything else is electronic/magnetics making brushless faster because there is NO RESISTANCE on the rotor shaft
I have owned both and brushless motors do don't you guys dare say I don't know what 'm talking abiot as I have also completely dismantled my 5800 that some kid decided to break

Roar and the other sanctioning bodies are slowly starting to allow brushless into racing, but it's a slow proceess and it will be.
If you're a newbie to this hobby you'd be silly not to go brushless.
Then there are the guys (like me) who have been in this hobby for a long time and have a lot of money invested in brushless motors. I have the brush cutter, the comm lathe a CS Dyno (not a POS motor checker.) But I just don't have the time to be screwing with brushed motors anymore. I'd rather spend my day on the track and not screwing with motors anymore....
I'm slowly going brushless. My electric bashers are the first to get brushless controllers/motors. I race stock and 19 turn in 1/10th and 1/12th and weare still running brushed. Novak has the 13,5 coming out which is supposed to be the exact same performance as a 27 turn motor, the 4300 is really more like a 19 turn. I'm hoping my LHS will allow us to run the new Novak motor and I'm really hoping they will allow LiPo.... I plan to pick up 2 8000mah LiPo's and I won't even have to take my chargers with me anymore.... Actually I will because of 12th scale....

The sooner we get away from the old brushed motor technology the better.
Brushless and li-pos will stop the flood of RC racers from going to gas to get more track time and longer races. We already run 20 minute electric 1/10th scale 2wd stadium truck mains called Pro Truck.
We race and just plug up to recharge for the next race without the battery leaving the truck using the same motor for over 1 1/2 years just changing the bearing around every 3 months. No comms to cut or clean. no magnets to zap, no batteries to discharge or zap, no trick batteries or trick motors.....just plug and play racing. I probably average 2 to 4 hours of run time each weekend on this same 1 1/2 year old motor with hardly no maintence that has the power to keep up with most mod brushed motors and even gas trucks on the straight away. We even race with the gas trucks sometimes due to alot of us perfer the longer 20 to 30 minute mains that we of course making stop and go pit stops for 5 seconds just like the gas trucks do!

I agree, with one hesitaton. I don't think legal "stock" brushless motors will be ROAR legal anytime soon. I don't think the big three, Associated, Epic and Trinity are anxious to see brushless motors legal in stock classes. At the last race at our local track we had almost 50 entrees in stock classes. That is a lot of brushed motor sales that could be in jeopardy if brushless suddenly became legal.
And I believe the big three do have some (maybe too much) influence on ROAR decisions concerning legal motors.
But I have hope. I would be willing to throw out my collection (about 20) of 27 turn motors, and springs, and brushes, and comm lathe and a lot of other misc crap, for two or three of those 13.5 motors that vtl1180ny mentioned.

Brushless is not for bashing anymore, at the onroad worlds there are a few people who ran brushless in touring (maybe a couple in 1/12, not sure, not my style) even in the A-main

In my region of the country nitro had almost replaced electric and what few electrics were left were stock truck which has almost been replaced by Pro Truck with brushless motors and li-pos that have 20 minute mains.
The nationwide Electric RC Pro Series had a Brushless Truck class in it!

Where I race we do a lot of night racing. Many homes nearby so we can only run electric. We run the same track on Saturday afternoon with nitros. We are not a ROAR club, but still run ROAR rules. So until ROAR changes there rules about stock motors I am stuck with brushed. I suspect it will be a long time.

My driving skills don't go beyond 27 turn.


usually our stock truck class will have 12 to 20 racers and the MOD trucks will have 4 or 5. It wouldn't be any fun to run dead last all the time in MOD truck. Just last week we had 14 racers in stock truck and I had a GOOD night, I got 4th.


I expect our local club will allow the new 13.5 brushless in stock classes. There has been some talk about it.

as a racer i dont see the point in racing for more than 10 mins.unless of course it was an endurance race.i know most tracks race about 5-6 mins and by the end everyone is pretty much at their own spot in the race and not bunched up in the same corner unless its a good even race.but other than that the racers will pretty much be in the same position after 10 mins.but if the future is brushless i would like to see more options on the brushless like the brushed motors have like springs tension, brush compounds and the sort.i know brushless dosent have that stuff but maby different little options.

I have seen several 20 minute races decided on the last lap.
The future is here with Brushless and li-pos! Let's make Electric popular again!

Li-pos and brushless simplify the RC racing that may attract some new blood and bring back to electric from gas some old blood with longer races that are badly needed with electric racing to appeal to the masses!

Well I was kind-of surprised to see this battery is only $175.00. Not bad, considering what it will replace in NiH batteries.
Seems like it would be good for my stock powered E-MAXX too.
