What is the best way to clean you r/c truck after a long day of bashing?

this is kinda like a "what should i get" thing...theres no best way. its all a matter of opinion. what i do is strip it down and clean it with denatured alcahol and q-tips. some people take the electronics out and hose it down

I use a big brush and a toothbrush for the hard spots. I prefer the "disassembling and reassembling" way. And I also use cleaning benzine.

try mean green and a compressor then wd with another blow off.

Or use denatured alcohol for about $12 a gallon. Always blow off with compressed air.

i wah my truck! lol! i remove all the electric parts and the engine and i wash with water and soap! then i lube all the bearings and put grease at diffs! and clean the engine and put again back and it is ok!

Avoid water...another method that I usually see when at the local track is atatching a special tool at the end of the compressor wich blows air mixed with cleaning benzine...it kills every single dust on the car and doesn't harm the electronics or servos when they are turned off. Benzine evaporates instantly.

why to avoid water? i remove the engine and the electronics! and when i want a fully clean rebuild i clean with this way: 1.remove engine and electronics and pipe,2. apply cleaner for motocross bikes(for 10 minute) ,3. drop warm water with presure and clean it well,4. i leave it in the sun, 5. unassample all the car and the bearings clean with dw-40 and then i lube them with bearing oil ,6 clean all the car, lube all the moving parts,put grease at diffs,seal some points,polish all the metals,put the electronics,6. maintance the engine and put at the car,7.polish the pipe 8. clean the body! and at some plastix i drop in a towel wd-40 and i clean the plastic parts and is like new!

It's just that it's not good for the plastics to dry at direct sunlight...and water doesn't evaporate so easily...anyway if that's easy for you there's no problem. I'm just saying that there are easier ways with less effort. Just be sure that ALL the water goes away.

Unless you are extremely careful, it's all too easy to get water into the electronics...not good...

I just wipe off the big chunks...and use an old tooth brush and q-tips and an old T-shirt...but I don't worry about getting it too clean, cuz it's just gonna get dirty again

same with me. a stiff tooth brush works BEST, I am an elec guy so that is why[8D]

But not everybody wants to go through that every time they clean.

I've seen guys just turn the hose on their truck and flood everything...

A guy brought a truck into the shop one day..."it doesn't work"...
When I opened the radio compartment, water droplets were sitting on the Rx. and inside the Rx. case was condensation. I dried things out with a hair dryer and got it going again, but there was evidence that water had been in there before, and for some time, because all the wires had corrosion on them.
