I'd say TB-02. It has the TB-02 Evo that you can get parts off of. Both are easy to rally and drift. It just a change of tires.

The TB02 is a far more advanced chassis. You'd be much better off with the TB02, I can't think of one advantage the TT01 has over it!

Just read the instructions properly, don't over-tighten the diffs, a mistake made by many.

is it true that if u use rally tires on street they will ware down really fast

another thing is that i will be rally ing it on a gravel trail and someone said that the gravel will jam the drive train and they said it was the belt or shaft and both have shaft will the gravel mess it up

sorry if this is in the same thread but most people who like D1 like WRC

tb02 is a better chassis. tt01 is super noob status. and for rally shaft is probably better

People use the TB02 for rallying, and in fact if you were looking for a good rally car I would recommend the TB02. It is enclosed, you can make/buy a cover for the electrics and it will out-perform any TT01.

Rally tyres probably won't wear down any quicker on asphalt than offroad, but on road you will have less grip. The Tamiya rally block tyres are excellent on and off road.

Get the TB02, you can't go wrong

HPI E10 is fully enclosed as well.. Probably make just as good candidate for Rally as it Does for Drift..

For drift a good 19t or 18t is good. Even the Tamiya SS motors, For rally it depends on how fast you want to go.

TT-01 because of parts support
just check ebay and see which one you can find more parts for.

If u got the cash to spend get the tb-02 m8
the tt-01 great but it will only do so much, better to get a better chassis now instead of spending huge amounts on hop ups for the tt-01
dont get me wrong i love my tt-01 but it has its limits too.
id put my money on the tb-02[sm=thumbup.gif]

i remember reading at drccentral.com that ABS (black) has a bit more grip than the PVC (white)

I was in the same situation too between the TT01 and TB02. I chose TB02 and just ordered mine today. sure TT01 has many hop-up parts in ebay, but those parts, TB02 already has like Adjustable Camber, Adjustable Toe. plus, weight distribution is better for TB02 and TB02 has ball differentials. Plus, you can pull parts from the TB EVO series to use for the TB02.

Take it from someone that has a TB02R. DON'T waste your money.

Why would I say this, you ask? Heres why:

When I first got it, I had intentions of making a rally car. After 3 brushed motors, I gave up. Unless you make a cover for the chassis, you will eat motors. The front wheels throw dirt DIRECTALLY into the motor.

It also has the tendency to break the outdrive cups because they are PLASTIC. They dont hold up to abuse or even mild running/drifting/rallying very well

Oh, and anybody that says rally knobbies wont wear down on the street is either lying to you or has never run them on the street because I FLATTENED mine in about 10 minutes in the driveway.

I then decided to make a drifter and I bought a Novak XBR brushless setup which has more than enough power to spin the wheels. Unfortunately, if you dont tighten the diff down, it will slip and ruin your drift. IT JUST WONT HOLD A DRIFT UNLESS YOU REALLY TIGHTEN THE DIFF. PERIOD. So, when you do tighten the diff down, you run the risk of breaking the cap screw. Ive broken about 8 so far and now Im done with this chassis.

Oh, I forgot, Ive also broken two outdrive cups as a drifter too, one on the front and one on the back....and Im running the tb02 evo 3 rear cups which are supposed to be stronger.

Lastly, if you decide not to tighten the diff so its essentially locked, you run the risk of melting the metal ring to the back of the outdrive cup. Its happened to me twice, even with ceramic grease globbed in there. Ive pulled 2 diffs apart to find the metal rings fused to the plastic.

Take my advice, dont waste your money because the diffs arent up to drifting and or rallying.

The chassis is a good one, the shocks and suspension are great but the diffs are NOT. If your going to on-road race or just parking lot bash, go for it.

Heres a video of my rally tb and a few pics of the drifter version;

i heard that the screws always loosen up for differentials. so why not use loctite on it? and for the outercups, they sell the EVO reinforced white and black ones

So how is the TT-01 better thatn a TB-02? You've got to be kidding by saying that the TT-01 is better. How do you know that you were doing everything right? Don't make asumptions without true facts.
