If I get the aluminum idler gear, are there any other parts or gears that need to be upgraded?

If i were you here's what I would run for my setup on my rusty, I am going to rebuild mine as soon as I get some parts... like tonight, with a Plexiglass chassis, HA! Wicked you won't be the ONLY one...

Setup:

Tires: Dirt Hawg 2, Front and Rear
Servo: Airtronics MG Servo, got mine for $11 on eBay
Radio: JR XR2 radio, got mine on eBay for $33.01 , usually sells for $210
Reciever: Novak XXL Reciever (I use an old Futaba BEC RX works Great!
Motor: Stock, Epic Binary 1 or 2 Pro Stock Rebuildably Motor (using in my Ultima) or Trinity P2k series or Monster Stock. Modified, Associated Ti Modified Plus (used to run in my Optima), Peak Jaguar (Cat XLS)
ESC: Stock, Mtroniks Eco 20 or RV Sport 15 (both have Reverse but you can lock it out if you want). Modifed, Duratrax Intellispeed 8T Pro ESC
MIP CVD's
Steel Outdrives
Aluminum Idler Gear
RRP Pinion
New spur

That's just my opinion though. I don't have the $$$ for that but If I did, oh boy, watch out! I am planning on asking for an Associated T4 Kit and Novak Brushless setup for Christmas... and my birthday... if I don't get it by then... If not T4 then a B4 (I already have a Rusty so I am going to try something new....

skip the novak brushless only reason to run a novak brushless system is if they sponsor you... get a lehner or hacker system....

Naw.... to expensive, I rather run a Novak Brushless, save the extra $300 and buy all graphite and a stealth tranny... I'd go with a nice MG servo too....

I have 2 onroad nitro cars.... one does 60 the other does 85, gotta be carful though and don't EVER get a Nitro Star Engine... they are crap....unless it's the SS

Next truck for me personally would be a 1/8 off road MT... maybe the Losi LST or the Savage 25, when I get the money.... I have a 1/10 nitro off road... or I'd go with an 1/8 scale buggy.... I've always wanted to try a Schumacher Big 6 too....

Yeah that's true....I like off road racing more though... and, if you don't like it, you can always mod it for on road use only... only thing that you can do if you mod it to on road is get more speed.... a stock Tmaxx does 40 offroad.... a Stock Tmaxx with on road tires does 46 MPH, so why not?

CELEBRATING MY 1,000 POST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [8D] [>:] So happy!!!!

Funny story.... but made me pissed:

I went to hobby people yesterday to go get some parts to finish my crawler and make it a little more then a roller. Their hours on sunday are 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM... I walk in at 4:25 and go to that back where the car department is... I look at a guy and ask, "can I get some service?" And he says, "sorry we're closed", I said in reply, "it's only 4:25" he's like, "We're closed, go home kid", I go so pissed. The manager comes over and says, "please bring all final purchases to the front of the store" I was so mad I jsut walked out... the guy goes, "where u goin'?" I said, "somewhere where they want buisness" and I flicked them off... so today I am going to a different LHS to see what they have... gotta get like $200 in parts but I only haev $125.... oh well....

The guy at this other hobby shop is so awsome.... he has a warehouse that has all his RC stuff in it for his shop, I give him a list and he goes and get's it... I pick it up and pay for it the next day....

Yay 1,000 POST!!!

Peace all!

I just bought a couple new projects. Just picked up a nitro rustler, and some HPI electric stadium truck with a novak fusion esc and a 12 turn triple motor on ebay. I'll be waiting very impatiently by the mailbox. Any nitro advice would be helpful.
