Any names to recomend?

And do you think traxxas would replace it? Since the saver didn't work?

You can try, but they probably wont. It probably did work but it didn't save your servo. Sometimes airbags don't save someone's life......

Just about every hobby store has these servos:

Both metal gears, similar price and specs.

If traxxas doesnt replace it check out Hi-tec. I have a single in my Revo and itll turn those big tires easy and is bullet proof. I think yo ucan get 625s for like $35ish.. But really the traxxas should be fine... I am kinda suprised you ripped the gears up.. Ive hit barriers and walls at like 60 and my servos have been fine... Havent changed my saver either...

@ VVRC- What's that?

In other news: I called up traxxas and explained how I thought the servo saver should break before my servo gets murdered. My new one should arrive in 3-5 days

You guys might have addressed this problem earlier in the thread, but Ill ask it anyway, I have a stampede xl5 at my house (It belongs to a kid down the road), and I am fixing it. Right now the Esc is getting very hot when you plug the battery in, its so hot that it burnt my finger, and the motor and receiver are not getting any power. The truck is almost brand new, and has ran before. It seems like the battery is shorting out somehow, but I cant think how. Also, Im a little embarassed to ask this, but, how do you turn it on? There doesnt seem to be a switch, Im guessing that all you do is push the set button, but Ive never seen an ESC like this. Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes all you do is press the little button. It does everything. You can turn it on, program it, and calibrate your radio to it. Have you tried using a different battery? It could be that the batt is shorted so putting who knows what into the ESC... Go to page 17 of the manual(ill post a link) and it should show you how to calibrate it. Try that and it should work again... As for the heat, like I said before, try a different battery... I'm not sure whatelse you could do...

I don't think so. You'd be better off with atleast 2. I'd recomend the gorrila maxx ones, lowes or home depot just has the adhesive velcro, which sucks, major. But yea, that's awesome dude! I think everyone would want one...

Even though traxxas is going to replace my servo, I bought the hitec 645 mg. Gona be smart and not have to buy several stock ones...which break easily. I'll probably use the stocker for a custom project, etc.

On a side note, the 645 mg WILL NOT fit perfectly. The suspension tower forms a "U" shape and it holds up the servo. The traxxas servo gets away with it because it's got an incline on one end. No problem if you've got a dremel, though!

MTpockets- Nice pede, man. How are those integy shocks working out for you? Love that chassis (and the tires, badlands, right?)

I'm itching to wear out the talons on my vxl pede, and when I do, should I get the masher 2000's or moabs? M2 or M3?

Are they better traction wise? And are they about as tall as a 2.8 talon?

they are the same height as the talons just not as wide. i think they get better traction than the m2k's
