The Traxxas cooling fans work great. I have one on my Sprint 2 on the ESC. They are a brushless motor so they spin super fast and offer a lot of cooling. Before the fan my ESC was temping at 155. With the fan its now at 110. I got mine on ebay for $18 shipped. Take a look in my gallery and you'll see pics of it mounted and see how I'm powering it. Just to give you some ideas. I'll also find and post a link of one on ebay.

$19.48 shipped. http://cgi.ebay.com/TRAXXAS-3340-VEL...3A1%7C294%3A50

Hello guys,

I got myself the E10 Drift Mazda RX7 a few months back and loved it. However, the asphalt where I live is pretty rough, so I got the HPI X-Pattern tyres today, and it really improved how the car runs. I think I like the rubber tyres better than the drift tyres and I'm thinking about getting some more upgrades.

What I was thinking about is the HPI adjustable shocks, the 15T motor and the SC15 ESC.

Do you guys have any thoughts about the upgrades or any advice?

Thanks!

I know the 15T motor is like $40 because I was looking to get one myself. But instead I went with the Venom Racing Fireball 15T and it was only $20 on ebay shipped. I got that motor because I need more speed/torque for drifting. Works awsome and I'm glad I went with that and saved some money. People say that the Venom motors dont last long and are crappy but I've had mine for about 2 weeks now and I run every day for at least 30minutes, sometime over an hour and the motor shows no signs of change. Plus its rebuildable.

why is it that the e10 dont seem to be able to medium speed drift in tight spaces is it because of lack of torque or the diffs, iv locked my back diff if i lock the front would it be easier

Hi All,

I am considering getting an assembled E-10 and adding my own radio gear however I want to start looking using lipo batteries as I am hearing great things about however i don’t want to change to brushless as I don’t need the speed. Is the following worth getting to go in to a stock e-10 and if so what do you think the motor range is on it.. example 15T to 27T or 9T to 21T

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&it em=350206185312

Thanks

That link doesnt say anything about motor limit, so i would stay away from it.

The stock e10 esc can handle 21-27 turn motors (and in my opinion you wouldnt want any faster than that in this car).

Lipos can be used with the stock esc, use an aftermarket lipo cutoff. I notice in that link that esc is rated to 12 volts, were you planning on 3s lipos?

Does anyone have an opinion on which is better? HPI Universal Drive Shaft Set or Atomic Ultra Spring Steel Swing Shaft? Can both be used with open diffs and locked diffs? Is this a worthy upgrade? Thanks!

Hi all. Been in the hobby for many years, but new to this site. Was thinking of picking up an E10. want to use it for both drift and parking lot bashing. I have a sidewinder/4600 combo ready for it. I will only be using 2 cell lipo. I read a few posts in this thread about plastic pinions (for the difs) may not be up to the power of bl (any steel or alum versions avail?). Like all my rides, I would like to make it durable from the getgo and not break the bank to do so. I am not concerned with bling, but if a nice alum part is the most sensible and cost effective way to achieve my goal then so be it. Was wondering of any weak points that I should address when I make my inital purchase that has not been covered in this thread already? So far I think I should get bearings for the diffs (what size?), cv axles for the front (which is best value for handling the power of the 4600?), an aluminum center drive shaft (will the stock one fail?), alum steering bellcranks and adjustable turnbuckles( what mm for camber and toe?), alum shocks, assorted 48p pinions (what is the range if the pinions that fit?), and some vintage tire/rims (will 26mm frnt/30mm rear fit?). I will purchase the assembled rx7 kit with clear body. I also have a Team Associated XP3D fm for it. Thank you for any help in advance. It will be greatly appreciated!-rag6

Hey guys, I saw a few cool mods on here, those aluminum steering brackets, bearings and the like and i was wondering if someone would like to make a list with parts numbers so i can have my local store order them? Don't have a credit card and ordering to holland is a PITA from a shipping costs point of view...
