I well agree the userfriendlyness if thats a word of AFP is cumbersome. It lacks technology from the 21st century. I am sure they at AFP will correct that shortly. However the flight characteristics are unmatched IMO to anyother sim available. If youlike video games buy RF..

Not to bug, but I was just wondering how it lacks technology from teh 21st century (not trying to start anything, just wondering).........................

BTW, well speaking of this GREAT (yes, I have to go with the AFP after seeing the videos) is there anyone that is interested in buying my G2 right now??......I'm gettin rid of mine, and ordering that darn 'ol AFP right when I sell it.....

WHat I mean by lacking technology from the 21st century is the not so popular serial port connections that they require to run the program. It seems to me that USB is not only more popular but much more stable and universally more adaptable. I found the set up and install of AFP more diificult than it should be and I am what you would call a " Computer Nerd" And my computer that runs this program is pretty powerful lees than a year old and pretty much the top of the line (8 monthes ago).

I guess that I should check on what connections I have before I journey into getting AFP........if you don't have the right stuff, then you can't run it.......(that is on my mom's computer - I load it on my dad's computer and then on my mom's so I can fly wherever!!)......But, I know that I have that serial port thing on my dads, but I'm sure that my mom has it too....she has a 2001 computer....(I'm sure that you computer is top of the line if it's only 8 months old.....I mean 8 months YOUNG!!)

Flight report: Its the middle of the flying season, for me anyway. RI isnt the most seasonable place to fly year round. Since the winter months I posted a lot of replys about AFP and Real flight in here. I am sure I am not the only one to report this but I feel the need to say it anyway. YAHOOOOOO for AFP. I cannot believe the realism it gives you in the real world flying. All be aside from the knee shake and adrenline rush when you are 2 ft above the runway. The only thing I can honestly say that is the biggest differnce in the 2. real life and AFP are the planes set up and by that I mean its throws CG weight and Engine. If any of those are not as you are used to on the sim then the plane will react differently. I spent a good part of the spring and summer "tweeking" my planes out to simulate what the planes on AFP were doing from changing engines to using the recomended 3D props. In the 4-1/2 short months I have been flying at the field this year I manged to hover my plane touch the tail and even land it on the runway from a hover. Last season I didnt even know what 3D meant. I am by far not blowing my own horn I owe it all to AFP the greatest SIM for 3d I have used yet and alot of practice on it at home. IMO.
