Do I need a protractor to install electronics?

Hello again,
I am setting up my electronics on my Century Hawk and noticed that there are references to setting some of the control arms up at 10, 15 degrees, etc.
The 90 degree one are fairly easy, but how do I determine where the other angles are without a protractor?
It's X-mas and I am sure that I can not go out and get one today, but I really wanted to get this done today.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

For absolute precision and minimum interaction keeping a 90 degree relationship between the control rod, servo arm and servo arm center is a must.
That being said, for most Sport flying a good eye-balling will do fine.

I could be wrong as I haven't set up a hawk sport, but ALL control arms SHOULD be at a 90 degree angle to the servo I would think.. It is in every other model i've seen anyway... When you say you saw references to setting up control arms at 10 or 15 degrees, you sure you don't mean setting up "pitch" at 10 or 15 degrees? Your collective pitch, cyclic pitch, etc? For that you need a pitch gauge. They're cheap, but borrow one if you must.
It's really the only way to be accurate....

So then I should ignore the instructions in the manual that state "..attach two steel balls with M2 hex nuts to a round servo arm at a distance of 10 to 11mm from the center of the servo and 10-15 degrees ahead of center of the servo"?
Trust me I don't mind follong your advise, I just want to be sure.
Also when I setup the control arm for the throttle, I had to program in reversing the servo in order for the servo arm to throw in the correct direction. According to the manual "As the throttle stick is moved from the low position to the high position, pushrod B moves backwards as the servo turns counter clockwise".
Is this correct? I could not get the arm to go in the correct direction according to the illustration unless I did this. See below:

Okay, they are giving it in reference to the servo itself, but my guess is, if you look at the actual linkage when it's hooked up on both ends, it will be 90 degrees...

yeah, exactly.... The drawing has it way over exagerated, but for example the collective servo... The linkage is not going straight across (parallel with the skids), instead it's angled "up" at about 10-15 degrees... If it was running straight across, then the servo arm would be at a perfect 90 degree angle to the servo.... But since it's angled up, the connection point will be forward a bit.... Basically you want the linkage and servo arm to be at 90 degree angles to EACH OTHER... Don't pay attention to where the servo is..... Get it?

set it up as the manual states, that is what gives you the 90 degrees in relation to the servo and pushrod. I have attached photos of mine. This is at mid stick 5.5 degrees of pitch. I set my pitch curves to the manual on hovering from -2degrees pitch to +9 at full up. I am hovering around half stick with this curves. Here are the pictures hope this helps you out,and clears things up for you. The second pic is the throttle and collective at mid- stick. take care mike

Ok. That is exctly how I have it. So then I guess everything is ok so far.
Once I get the servo for the rudder and install it, I am taking this my LHS to look over for me.
Next: Buy and install Gyro and Digital Servo
