Not sure what the question is: Wing tank to vent is straithtforward 'vent' to overflow with the fittings provided by C-ARF; wing tank to main tank is just wing 'feed' to main, then main 'feed' to UAT.

I shaved down the servo mounting plates on the elevator servo and now its flush on the servo. It still touches the inside of the stab, shall I sand off a little off the inside of the stab?

Did you use JR 8411s on the elevators? If so, shouldn't need to shave anything; if not, then I think Dave talked said it is okay to shave some of inner part of the horizontal stab, but I can't find that post right now.

Had the great pleasure of another Ultra Flash test flight today. This is a Green scheme colour swap (green to red).
P-120SX and DSX-12 radio meant a sure thing for reliability, Powerbox Sensor switch and stock CARF Ultra Flash gear throughout.
Other than needing to adapt the Flap/Elevator mixing to Andy's set up which uses CROW the flight was perfect. Reflection tells me that no or little (3/16") CROW is required. I don't run any and have no problem landing on our 360' strip.
With blue skies, this scheme looks great!

Looks great, Dave. I notice the struts are not trailing link - what brand are they? Of course, if you have the perfect landing attitude as shown in your picture, any landing gear is fine!
I originially had crow in my UF because I have it in my Bobcat, but took it out of the UF - not needed.

Gus

As I said they are the AT German trailing link legs as supplied with the UF set up. Like Andy says if you look at the far leg you can see the trail

looks great and the color looks like it shows up nice.. mine should be done in two weeks... so i guess no gear issues ....i never had any issues with my classic flash. with trailing link... wierd why so many were having problems... doesnt look much differant... if anything looks like they would fit better due to being desighned for trailing gear....

My apologies; probably did not have my reading glasses on! Again though, given the perfect landig attitude in the picture, probably doesn't matter. For me, I need all the help I can get!

Radar gun is wrong, or GPS...
I have a P-120SX in mine I can assure you it is not doing 300mph, I have had a turbine which did and it was wayyyyy faster than my UF

I dont think this airframe is capable, aerodynamically anyway of anything over 270 or so. You would have to have some serious thrust behind it.
Would love to be proven wrong though.

My "classic" Flash with a P160SX, fueled weight of 13 kg, does 351 km/h when pushed, measure multiple times in 0 wind, with a pro radargun
A Rookie II with a P160SE does 390 km/h on the same gun

My UF with a 160SX doesn't get close to 300mp, so igor your speed readings are way off or my 160sx is broken!
I put some more flights on my UF this weekend and did some touch and goes to see how slow she'll land. Snails pace would be how I describe the landings. Much slower than my classic Flash.

Both UF and UL's are complete now. Here they are........
UF flown and is a nice jet. Not too sure about 'snails pace' but it does land reasonably slowly. Ended up messing about with flap settings and have opted for 3 1/4" as this gave the best approach config.

Rob,
They look great! I think Dave mentioned 4 inches of full flap, but I couldn't get that much throw for whatever reason, and ended up with just over 3 inches, so am glad you found that acceptable as well.
Where did you get the 'Ultra Flash' decal/vinyl(?) for the fuselage? I need something like that for mine in green or blue.
Regards,
Gus

Hey Dave (and others),
Just finished my Ultra Flash and I have a concern, the plane sits level on the ground and when I test ran it today I noticed the tank was running out so I shut it down. I then drained the rest of the fuel to make sure it was all out. I picked up the nose and another 16 ounces came out. Is this normal, or should I remove the rear brace and drop the rear of the tank? I am running a 120 SX so I need every drop of fuel to count. I guess my question is does the plane fly with a slight nose-up attitude, allowing the tank to drain properly?

The Ultra Lightning will land as slow as my 3.0m 260 ( or slower even ). Tried stalling it a few times, will really crawl slow ( about like my IMAC planes ).
