I was told that the price including their retract system will be under £1000.

My Feedback: (1)
Steve & Matt Bishop (Airworld Hawk Red Arrows formation team) have been doing all the work on the prototype and have just completed and flown the first factory kit.
It is a sport model that looks scale which a clever idea and designed for a P60/P80 size, very nice model at a reasonable price.
YT/Steve & Matt have a thread over on RCMF showing it's progress from the prototype to the first kit version just flown a couple of weeks ago. I predict it selling very well.

I know of 2 people in the UK who have ordered the Pre Production models and they have been told that they have to sign a disclaimer before they can have the kit................. That seems a bit odd to me
I was going to buy one but then TY have been at this so long and hyping it up then not delivering I got fed up and bought a Panther to build

i think the reason for the disclamer is the fact that there are no instructions at all in the pre production kits and a lot of the building is left up to you (not a bad thing as far as some rtf kits go).having spent a week giving a good once over a few points might help someone looking at one.i for one bought this because i normally fly scale and was getting a bit bored with the film covered twin boom type sport jets and wanted someting that assembles quickly at the patch,at less than a grand i can put up with a few niggles.
if you get a pre prod kit have a good look at some of the glue joints and run around the m with hysol, also the moulding on the fus needs cleaning up in a few places (purely cosmetic)having said that it is quite a good substantial moulding.
i think this kit at the pre production price is a bit of a bargain if you are prepaired to do a bit of work and supply a few quality fittings(horns etc).the undercarriage looks to be upto the job but i would run a bit of extra glue around the mounts, very common with a few ARTF sport jets,at least the mounts are made of wood not the soft packing case material found in some sport jets.
Biggest thing in its favour IT LOOKS SCALE.

I have not heard of a disclaimer, but can understand if it is a pre production kit, I know Steve told me that YT wanted them to check over the complete kit for any potential problems and they were going to write the build instructions at the same time.
I know from personally writing three Build manuals for fullsize aircraft kits that there are always little things that need changing on the first batch of kits so if you want one now you have to be prepared to except some responsibility or just wait!

yes, i have been watching this models slow proggress for over a year, but i think the wait has been worth it,its a lot of model for the price and not a lot more work than your average boomer.

Yes, I saw one of the early models at the JMA agm fly-in back in March, its going to be a good model, great that the gear and flaps are in the fuselage, plug in wings with one lead for each means quick assembly at the field. It also looks like an aeroplane and will be available from a range of sources.

KFX
It's sub £700 with UK 17.5% tax so $580 ish.
Kits in UK now are not full production kits, they left by sea before the final changes. Early next year we will have production kits to sell

dave is spot on with price,£1000 with the retracts legs and wheels,£680 i beleive just for kit as i said its a bargain for a semi scale jet with a moulded fus (not made of packing ply and covered in film) the wings are built up and fully sheeted(all be it covered in film and painted)
would have liked a clear canopy, but that can be fitted later. it definately compares favourably with more pricey sport jets, and looks like it will survive an english summer without all the film peeling off.

Hello,
In time i flow the Pantera often. I use a IQ-Hammer 130+. This is a great combo.
For me the pantera is perfect, because it flies great and is fast built befor flight.
Now after many flights and landings, the only part i would change is original retract into behotec, jet1a, ect...
My front retract still is behotec.
Pantera - very good plane!!!

Yes it is still produced, and will be available in the US soon.
I know we're starting to sound like a broken record but this project has taken a few different paths to finally end up with a model to be proud of. After feedback from our customers and extensive flight testing by our own pilots we decided to tweek a few parts, and redesign others, to create an even better version of the Pantera.
The situation at the moment is we are flight testing the new prototype with all the changes, to ensure that we are happy before going back into production later this year. Although YT International have a long and respectful history in RC scale, jets were a new direction for us. The first Pantera was a small run to test the market and see if there was room for a sports scale model from a relatively unknown jet manufacturer. It seems our hunches were correct as we have been inundated with requests for information, this caused our original batch to sell out within weeks of landing.
I know there are several distributors who have contacted us about stocking this model, and are probably getting a little tired of asking when they will be available. The truth is that we wanted to ensure we were 100% with the model before we released it onto the world market. Hopefully we shouldn't be too long now! The new version will also have optional electronic retracts with electronic brakes to follow.
Thanks,
Sym.
