I returned to the shop and checked one more time by pinching the tail booms at 160mm, still with the fuel in it. Perfect. I’m happy. Just can’t hold the dang thing suspended very long. 😂

I've been redoing the install on mine for the last 4 hrs, all done, feels good this way, this means, that is it for the install, moved the pump forward a bit and the gear valve sideways, it looks clean now.

Next is to assemble it for the CG.

Carlos, nice pics. Thanks for posting. Small jets apparently are challenging to install the radio and support systems. Seems to be an advantage of larger jets but also comes larger price tag.

Dave

Are we supposed to glue these tubes or they just get pushed into the booms to stop the wing from rotating?

I feel like stopping by your place to check the CG on your plane myself.

Carlos

Just push in through the boom into the fuse on assembly. They are really just for the wing as the screws support the boom, but we did that so the tubes could be pulled out of the boom to make transport cleaner, obviously they take load off the screws too.

Just balanced the X, it requires 13.8oz (391g) to have the CG point at 170mm, the battery on the picture a is a 4K 3 cell LIFE, that battery is 13.8oz (391g) heavy.

I now have to find a combo of batts that weight that much.

It’s a long drive from Sacramento! 😂 Kidding aside, I’m fine with it. I’ve been building and flying planes for some time.

Are you going to run the tank dry each flight....?

You should add 1/2” of fuel in the main tank.

I see your point Dave, I will re-CG it that way, I just noticed how much forward the main tank is from the CG.

Thanks again

🙂. Yes, I actually balance mine with 1/3rd tank as full it’s nose heavy, it gets to the sweet spot quicker 😉

I figure you may know a thing or two about the Xcalibur and will go with your suggestions.

Thanks dave.

Had to get 5mm longer wing screws, now I can slide the wing into the spar without having to give it a wack!! The 30mm are too short and they were not catching the nut on the other side of the clamp when the spar is in.

Ok Dave

You have done it this time, the Xcalibur balanced perfectly with the batts on the pictures, 2 X 1700 LIFE and a 2200 LIPO and 1/4 of fuel in the tank, that was so simple, I CG it twice to make sure it was true what I was seen

Thank you.

Since the jeti DS12 is too new to me, I decided to set up the Xcalibur in my 10CAP Futaba, I took it to the field today with the intentions to fly it, but it didn't cooperated, at the field the Jetronics valve just didn't want to work as it should ( crap ) and the engine didn't want to start, last time it was run was like a year or nearly two years ago, I finally got it going after two or 3 fail starts with flames ( lots ) it starts now but it needs some adjustments to eradicate the all the flames during the start up sequence.

My friend Raffy gave me a hand with the engine.

I use a ACEX (Swiwin) 80. I ran my engine yesterday for the first time since October. I did not get a successful start on the first attempt. I went through the “learn RC” setup as I did the first time last year. After that the engine started right up. Performed test taxi and brake test operations.

I wanted to do all that also but, first the jetronics gear valve didn't work, it did at home but not at the field then the engine's fuel valve was stuck, I finally got it unstuck, when the engine started after 4 failed attempts I had about 2 feet of flames then it it stoped, on the following start, it did the same, it had accumulated all this fuel inside and finally it cleared and now it is starting and running normal but I will have to adjust the start up fuel to completely eliminate all the flames.

Done for this week.

On Futaba increase the travel from 100-100 to 105-105% and the valve will work
