Default pirotti Tuono Easy

Hi All,

Looking in to the Pirotti Tuono Easy for 60/80 size turbine

Does any one have some more detailed info/flight reports on this one.
There is not a lot to find out there on this one.

Help appreciated.

Regards,

Ed

Sorry, I do not have a Pirotti Tuono Easy, but I did buy their bigger Tuono as my first jet and have been totally pleased with it. I have close to 200 flights now and basicly have had to do noting to the plane. A great flyer.
If the Easy is anything like the larger version I don't think you would be disappointed.

Thanks Joe,

I saw the big one (and the small one) at jet power last year. Unfortunately i only saw the big one fly.

What i'm looking for is an easy to use, for in the small hours, to grab, just throw assembled in the car sport jet.
One that's not to complex on assembling and handling and one that's an bit more then the Habu32 with the P-20.

So that's why my eye fell on this one but unfortunately there is really not a lot of info to find out there…….

My Tuono Easy is shipping from Pirotti Models next week.

Like you indicate I am taking it as a step up from my Habu with P20. I got to see a Tuono Easy at Jetpower last year and also meet Mauro Pirotti and talk to him - I really liked the wing profile, size and layout so that was enough to make up my mind.

There does not seem to be a huge amount of information out there on the Easy but I hope to contribute some photos/videos throughout the year.

Hi Ed,

Yes I received my 'Etron Easy' last week. I was very happy with the packing conditions and the overall condition of the model. A lot of work was done for me by the factory, so my job is really down to fitting accessories and gluing in a few bits of pieces here and there. Pirotti even supplied the moulded tank, tail pipe, servos, and retracts!

I am sending photos and a writeup to Jetpower magazine so hopefully it will be in an upcoming issue later this year - I am hesitant to go in to too many details until then, however here are a couple of photos to give you a feeling for the size and general shape:

Just a thought, I also found some photos online of someone else building a turbine Easy, this is not my model but hopefully they won't mind me referencing the photos up here. I think this is a P60?:

Tuono Easy build is coming along well but quite involved. I received my Jets Munt VT80 from Clifford at www.rc-jets.com recently and am in process of building turbine rails. For anyone who is thinking about one of these birds, here are some pictures to give you an approximate idea of sizing.

Pretty sure there will be an article on the build in the upcoming edition of Jetpower magazine.

For anyone interested in putting together a turbine Tuono Easy, this photo may interest you. On the weekend a friend and I made up formers and rails. It was quite tricky marking the centre of the turbine, test fitting the pipe mounts, etc etc - using string and markings to make sure everything was aligned but I'm pretty sure we got there in the end.

This is installing a VT80 which is quite a compact 80nm turbine. I also checked the Kingtech 100 (same size as an 80 I believe) but it was really too big as it is a lot longer and interferes a bit with the pipe or pushes the fuel tank too far forward. The Vt80 is borderline but doable and looks good when the wing is installed. In the Kingtech range I think a K60 would fit ok.

Now to finalise the pipe mounts and finish gluing that all in place!

Just an update on my 'E-tron Easy' project, I had to mount the turbine further back than the picture shown above to get the CG to sit right. The tailpipe that is supplied by Pirotti is very light weight. I did however get her in to the air a couple of weeks ago. The maiden flight was pretty tricky as there was a few things out of trim on the plane, there was also a mini hurricane blowing which made it extra interesting, but it was a huge push to get it in the air and so the difficulties were worth it. With any new plane there’s a few things to tweak and improve after the first flight so I am rectifying a few issues and tidying up a few things to make it even better. Hope to get out again in the next couple of weeks.

And finally she is featured in this months edition of Jetpower Magazine:

There will be a follow up article in the next Jetpower about the build and maiden flight!

Bad news on project Etron Easy I'm afraid. I was at the jet flying field on a very windy day attempting to get photos for my next article, foolishly I attempted a takeoff using full flap (by mistake, but still an error on my part) and she got a wing stall just after lift off and cartwheeled down the runway.... . the nose is broken off and smashed with damage to the elevators and wing also the frame is a write off. Turbine and electronics survived ok.

With incredible generosity Pirotti models have offered to help me replace the air frame to restart the project so hopefully we can see Etron Easy flying sometime after Jetpower.

In the meantime, here are some photos I grabbed on an earlier day with my P20 Habu:

It may be just personal taste but I think the Tuono Easy has incredible striking lines from every angle.

Hi geoff, I'm really sorry for what happened to your TuonoEasy. I'm going to build Tuono Easy with jetcat zp60 turbine , can you tell me the exact location of the cg on your model? How much moving ailerons, flaps and elevator? you need to put some down elevator with full flap? Many thanks in advance.

Hi Fabio, thanks for the kind words and sorry for the delay in getting back to you - I am just back from the Jetpower 2014 show.

This picture shows the control throws that are recommended by Pirotti:

This picture shows the CG zone:

I got a chance to talk to Mauro at Jetpower and he is very kindly helping me to get my project back on track with a rekit. Amazingly generous and I can't wait to get project e-tron Easy back on track!!

Please post up some pictures of your Easy and your install !!

Hello Geoff, thank you very much for your answer. this year have not been to the jet power but next year I will ....
The images you sent me are very helpful for me, my Tuono is the first prototype made from Pirotti (the one decorated vodafone mercedes) had a 120mm edf and I have to convert it to turbine .... I will send you pictures soon.
Thanks again.

Very nice Fabio, I think I have seen photos of your Easy. Is the inside of your wing re-inforced with Carbon Fibre? it might be worth checking with Mauro to make sure if you need to do any re-inforcing although a 120mm EDF is pretty powerful for that size model!
