Same thing for me, the quality, released products, available products, updates and overall support for the Jeti sold me. And I have absolutely NO regrets.
I have dealt with Ultimate Jets several times and they do a great job, THANKS WOODY, but I don't think they get much help from Weatronics. Which is too bad. The ergonomic of the Weatronics is clunky too. my own opinion...... of coarse.

I've asked this question on the DS-16 thread but no answer......

Can somebody enlighten me on the new multi-mode gimbals. Can these be configured to give a super smooth feel on the throttle stick (no ratchet)?

I fly heli's in addition to Jets and I want a super smooth stick on the collective. From what I read the sticks on the existing (non- colored) DS-16 are still a little 'sticky' due to a small amount of ratchet input on the throttle / collective even when the ratchet is removed.

Can someone please give me a view?

I do not think so there is enough of those gimbals out there. Only few radios in US have them.

Hi,
I have a Multimode... it allows for a fast mode change by just unscrewing and rotating a plate on either stick to set the preferred mode.
You can adjust the ratchet using a screw on the mechanism and I believe you can back it off to remove the ratchet all together.

You can start with DS-16 (it has 24 channels) and later transfer all you models to the 24. The DS-24 is still months away. Do not know single person who lost money on Jeti stuff. There is almost none used out there. Jeti is keeping they record flawless with backwards compatibility.

We all loose money when selling used stuff. Why would someone want to pay 1700. Used when they can get it new? So I figure I would loose 300-400 if I were to buy now then upgrade in 6mo then try to sell older model when everyone wants the new one. Jeti is for the most part an exclusive few. I have seen 2 in the last 5 years. So that narrows the resale crowed. I'm excited to get my first jeti so I'll wait and get the ds24

I held thee DS-16 AGAIN the other day trying to see if there was any way...

I concluded if I quit using both sliders (which I do now), it would be just about perfect.

I really wish it would work for me.

George as a current Futaba user you would adapt to the Jeti programming, quickly. I use the left slider for my volume control, that way when get my fuel low alarm i can lower or turn off the nagging gal and peacefully land my jet.

Not too concerned about the programming, I sort of enjoy learning that and seeing what can be done with some "creative" programming. My apprehension is the slider lay-out/location. I use both sliders (left - flaps, right - brakes), so inherently they are integral to my set-ups and flying.

Believe me, I have tried to like it because I have access to one and could use whenever I wanted.

I use the right slider for brakes as well on my DS16 but then I have rather large hands so what works fine for me may not for everyone. Just curios what it is that doesn't work about the slider for you ? Is it the placement of the sliders, the length of the lever? Well we'll just have to change that! No really I understand. I use the inner switch above the throttle for my Flaps (Flight Conditions) also my Gyro gains are controlled by this switch too. I use the right slider for brakes typically. We just need to get you on the box while flying so you can get a true feel for the system.

I know what you mean George. That is the only thing that bothers me about the ergonomics of the radio. For me it's the angle where the slider starts compared to the Futaba and the physical travel as well. Not sure if it's possible but if they made the slider with say an offset that might work.

That was the only thing that bugged me to was the sliders, I replaced them with the longer one's problem solved been using it now for just over 12 months and luv it.

Wayne,

As just mentioned, it's the physical location. If the lever extended to rear of the box and allowed to be used from that position (maybe an offset as suggested by Marty), it would probably solve that issue.
