Should have mentioned that's $500 CAD delivered to my door from China. Got it last winter and spent a week assembling it and two months getting up to speed with it. Quite the learning curve, definitely not plug and play. Since then, have invested another $100 in two upgrades, a BLTouch Z axis probe, and a linear rail for the Y axis. That gear door mount takes about 1 hour to print. I've printed about 8 of them to get it just right. Everything shown is printed with ABS plastic as PLA is not as strong, and not as heat resistant. ABS is a bit more difficult to print than PLA, particularly the shrinkage that needs to be factored in. But it's cheap! Those parts shown above range from $0.25 to $2.00 in material each.

Fun stuff.

Jim can you post a link to that printer? I have been looking for one to mess around with that I can try and squeeze into my budget. I am ok with having to mess with it to have it work and dont need plug and play.

Jedda747,

Looks like someone downunder has a laser cutter. That is absolutely beautiful work and layout!! Is that is real carbon fiber plate or someother look a like material? It is hard to see in the first picture, but what did you have them paint on the side of it?

Again, Great job!!!,

Dirk

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/2016...6091-neY7yRf6e

Price has come down since I got mine. $239 USD for the standard printer with free shipping via DHL or UPS...

Recommend the standard printer. You can find some of the offered "upgrades" much cheaper elsewhere.

And if you do get it, recommend joining this FB group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/TEVO.3dprinter.owners/ Lots of help there.

Took one off and it is a metric M3 thread. Found what I need here: http://www.pneumadyne.com/threads-el...dyaWQiO2k6MDt9 item ELB20-M3.

But I don't need 25 of 'em! Finding a supplier in Canada or that ships to Canada was a bit of a pain. Best I could do was this guy http://www.airsoldier.com/mm5/mercha...Category_Code= but had to send an email to do the order. Will let y'all know if they are the right ones when I get 'em.

Jedda,

It definitely helps to have friends with CNC machines, Laser cutters, Vinyl cutters, 3D printers and of course the imagination to create, and let's not forget, you have to have a kick ass plane to stick this stuff in!! Great job and we are looking forward to more pictures.

Haven't been able to fly so I have been tinkering. Installed the noes gear landing spot light. This way I can put my gear down in the final turn and as I line up on the runway see that my gear is down without doing a gear pass

Next I will work on the springs for the main gear. I have some die springs on order.

My T-1 made in this morning. The first Blue Angel in the states! I have not seen it yet, my buddy has had the pleasure of looking it over for me. I can't wait to get started.

This must be a HUGE occasion for ewalk, he has been a member of RCU for 10 years and this is his 4th post, a man of many words!! LOL Enjoy Eric, and please post pics when you can, we need them for the website as you are the 1ST to receive the Blue Angel and I'm pretty sure others want to see this scheme as well.
