Both of mine are around 17.5 lbs (UAT full, dry main) give or take a couple of ounces. Both with K85, no smoke, single tanks. One with PB mercury, the other with CB200 (I know this is overkill...), 2x2600 mah 2S Lipo, 1x2100 mah 3SLiFe. JP retracts with Xicoy controller. I've seen folks post dry weights under 15 lbs, mine also always seem to be on the heavier side -Tom

Had an issue with my K85, it got sent all the way to Tiawan and back in less than three weeks. Pretty impressive service! Looking forward to getting it back in the air.

Getting ready to maiden my t-1 mini, have the flaps assigned to flight modes for now so I can trim elevator to flaps. Should I trim elevator to give level flight when flaps are down or should it have a tick or two of nose down attitude so I don't stall the wing on approach ?

I think it depends what you like to do, myself I do level then fly the plane push or pull as required....and throttle as necessary.....I don’t fly flat approach....at most of the field I fly....because of obstacles...

I agree, I trim to level flight in all three flap settings. Because its difficult to gauge approach speed I try to keep a slightly low nose attitude during the entire approach but I do so consciously with a little down elevator; I feel like I'm developing better habits if I put the down elevator in manually verses a little down elevator trim but that's just me, we should each do what works best for each of us. I use throttle to control the approach angle. Good luck on the maiden, post some video if able! -Tom

Similar to some others, I am at 17.8 lbs with UAT full and main tank dry. I have a PB Mercury, the Xicoy brake/steering/door controller, LED lights. 3S/2500 LiFE 9.9v ECU battery, 2S/4000 LiPo receiver battery, 2S/2200 LiPo retract/brakes battery, two JR XBus receivers with satellites. Kingtech 85G2. C of G on the wing tube.

Regarding flap trim, I trim the model for level flight in all three flap configurations. For half flap and for full flap, I trim it with the throttle set at about ⅓ of full throttle. With full flaps on final approach, as I reduce throttle below ⅓ the model then naturally sinks on its own.

Does anyone happen to have pics of the inside of their pipe with 40 or more flights on their plane? I had to pull the engine and when I went to put it back in I thought I was seeing the pipe was discolored about 3-4” from the engine exhaust cone. But now what I’m thinking it’s it’s burnt oil residue? I ran a rag down there with some alcohol on it and it does appear to be oil residue. The pipe is brown underneath it but I think that’s from the oil. Is that normal? First jet so I don’t really know. Engine was sent out for service after a flameout.

I have the same thing in my older jets.....2+ years....and the stacks on my Turbo Prop are that colour as well...pretty normal I think.

Same here. One question though, do you have a smoke system? If yes, do you have your smoke oil nozzle placed at the engine exhaust or at the tail pipe exhaust? Only one of my jets has smoke and I have the smoke oil nozzle at the back of the tail pipe to avoid getting smoke oil residue in the exhaust tube (even though it would probably all burn off). -Tom

No smoke on this one, next one if it ever gets here will have it but I plan to put it at the back of the pipe not by the motor.

In my mini no smoke.......but I have smoke in other jets....some out at the end of the tailpipe some behind the motor....makes really no difference...

On thing is, I used smoke fluid not diesel/oil mix.....I would never do behind the motor with the diesel stuff......

Finally got my maiden in today along with my F-16. The Mini flew great although I found the recommended throws a bit too sensitive. I also found the stock brakes with Xicoy LG-15 controller to work fine. Came to a smooth straight stop. Hopefully get a few more flights in tomorrow.

Three more flights today. Tried out the smoke. W as a bit windy but mostly down the runway. Going to enjoy this plane.

Congrats! I have the same color scheme and I really like the way it looks in the air. I didn’t do smoke on mine but the pics you posted makes me wish I had.

Thanks. Yes, with my not so great vision I picked the red as I have a Mini Avanti EDF in red and I can see that well. If I could see better, I probably would have went with the blue or Red Bull schemes. Been flying for about twenty four years and this is my first plane with smoke. They made it easy having the two tanks in the plane and although I've only had four flights so far, it looks like I can do an easy seven minutes with enough for a few go arounds and that's plenty of time for me.

My timer is set for 7 minutes, K85 and I land with about a third of a tank left. I start the timer before my takeoff roll. I don’t have the smoke tank installed.

I am not currently running smoke. I use the upper smoke tank as my Taxi/run-up tank. I fill the upper tank with about ½ inch of fuel. I start up, run up, and taxi out to take off. Timer starts on throttle up to take off. I have my timer set to 7:30 and I fly between ¾ and full throttle all the time. I usually do one missed approach practice pass and land with about 20% fuel left in the main. I'm running K-85. I have 32 flights on my Mini now and I'm starting to really get confident with it. I really love the way it flies.

Maiden my Monster T-1 Sunday and 1/2 thru the flight I saw smoke a puff of smoke exit exhaust tube. Landing discovered auxillary
fuel tank seam on the bottom had a bad leak. What a mess!! Is there a product that will remove kerosene from the wood
and fiberglass.

I had a leak in my T-1. I filled the fuselage up with kitty litter. I let it set for 2 weeks. Vaccumed it all out. Used a little simple green for final clean up. It worked better than I thought,
