Idle current , no load, .04 amps.
Absolutely superb devices, will be using a lot more of them with my Core.

I can imagine you would do a placebo test - get given the placebo with the words "Placebo" on it and then still argue it worked - and was actually better than the real product.

All he does is advertising….in this case false advertising…they don’t buzz because they are .001ms unlike the top end like the 380 series at .0008ms so they will buzz more trying to keep a close neutral….

anyway same case and servo arm just different colour, don’t get me wrong not a bad servo at all….but not the best either just a middle of their line at $114 usd….

Yep, "Captain Infomercial" is back with his never ending Powerbox BS.

Maybe PB is coming up with a servo that stops you missing runways and flying over the pits, will be perfect for him.

You guys are cold as ice. Remember the Golden Rule? Na, it’s 2022, let’s just hate and let’s hate out loud.
No response necessary (more wishful thinking).

As I asked, are you sponsored or not - a simple question that deserves an answer.

We then know if you are impartial or not.

Yes I am sponsored !
By a very succesful company which traded VERY succesfully for 18 years until the grounding of Concorde and my retirement !
My wife and I owned it ! ( DGC Ltd, the company which took Concorde to many UK airports as well as JFK and CDG)
NO model companies sponsor me, I pay my own way, always.
Only the very best of equipment gets into my models, which include 14 fully equipped and serviceable jets, not interested in freebies.
Some of you guys mistakenly think that because the items I review in RCJI are always excellent they must be freebies.
Wrong. These items are carefully chosen for my own use at my own expense.
I am very impressed by these new servos and will be buying more, because they are good, very good. Actual value of delivered torque, current etc. all on Core telemetry invaluable. Yes, I know they are based on MKS 550 because I have a few installed in jets.
Now, do continue with your pernicious sniping if thats the best you and your like can do.
I will leave you to it.

When your asked about RC sponsorship, why do you go into a previous closed company?

https://companycheck.co.uk/company/0...ies-house-data

So, you David Gladwin guarantee in writing on this forum that you have NEVER received any RC related products that you have personally reviewed/ discuss/ evaluated/ apprised free of charge?

I have my timer where I can flip a switch (momentary) or push one of the buttons and it says the time. I sold my house and I am moving so everything is packed up so I can't walk you through it but it can be done.

Has anyone ordered or received a Atom transmitter yet?

Yes. Colin Straus, co editor if RCJI has one and has written an extensive review just published in the latest magazine.
One of my UK flying friends also has one, he is delighted with it, even prefers to soft case to the hard, Core, case
As for the timer aspect mentioned above, I too, have arranged mine, so that time is announced by pressing a spring loaded switch. Just assign the timer function, with voice, to the selected switch or button.
Perhaps a future software update will allow countdown ( if, in fact, it can,t yet be done !)

I wrote earlier that it has a very “tight” gearbox. That is certainly the way it feels. Richard at PB tells me that this is a function of the high frequency operation 1000 hz v 330hz or so, increasing the holding power when static.

The one improvement I would like to see is “soft start” , perhaps a future software update will enable this.

Although we have still sold more Core than Atom in the time since it was released, I have 6 happy Atom users flying them and I tweaked the set up on two jets using Atom at last weekend’s Elvington Jets. The Cayman scheme Rebel 2m is an exact match for the four Core controlled ones in my local club, so I shipped the radio with a Core model memory copy to help the first time jet customer. Normal model memories can probably be transferred between them 90% of the time.

Thanks

Voice countdown timer is possible on v2.81.

I was playing around with the enhanced timer features some time ago and here is a simple example which I setup below:**

In this 5 min countdown timer example:
  • Timer is activated by my throttle stick
  • Initial long Beep given to indicated timer start.
  • Short beeps issued at every minute followed by short Voice announcements at each minute. The voice is set to trigger one second after the beep so they don't overlap.
  • At 30sec remaining mark a long Voice announcement is made indicating 30secs to go
  • At 10secs remaining a Voice countdown is initiated counting down all the way to 0 ie. 10...9...8 etc....
  • I have also setup a button which if pressed announces the exact time at that instant.
  • A second timer is also setup which starts to count upwards when the countdown timer has reached zero so I can record elapsed time after countdown timer has completed.
The timer features allow the user to setup fairly complex timer configurations.

** Looks like I cannot post any pics or attachments until I reach a 10 post threshold....So no screenshots as yet...!

BTW - Hello to everyone - My first post on RCU - Hope to contribute something worthwhile to the forums....

Testing these new servos for RCJI left me struggling.

I could get data from one servo and from another sensor without changing bus addresses, but with two servos connected only flashing data panels, no data update.

I have discovered it is neccesary to follow the addressing instructions as set out in manual TO THE LETTER and everything works perfectly. Point 4.1.7 covers it.

Might save you guys some time and frustration !

BH Sorry, You quoted a date for MAN review as Nov 2020, but my understandings is that the Atom was not released until earlier this year due component, chip, shortage. Prototype .?

…….and Costas, PLEASE keep your contributions such as yours coming, they are VERY welcome and in the best spirit of RCU.This is a VERY capable and complex radio, we are all still learning !
