Hi there
I have just Bought myself a Wren 54 (mk2 i think). i want to know what the max and min RPM the turbine can run at, also what is the max temp it can run at. i am using locally produced electronics (GB Electronics, South Africa). it seems to work fine. the rpm must be set as it cuts at 140 000 i am to scared to crank it further. also when i increase throttle when i reach 3/4 throttle it cuts. must i set a throttle curve?
Thank you
Michael

Hi Michael,
I have the GB Electronics ECU for my MK2 as well. I had similar problems at first with wet starts and cutting out before CRAZYFLYERUK helped me out.
It would help if you can post the settings on your ECU. I'll run through mine later and post them on here for you.
Regards
Scott

Hi Michael,
Here's the parameters I currently use on my setup:-
START/AUTOSTART
Start Allowed Revs = 7
Start Allowed EGT = 100
Startramp = 65
Disengage RPM = 30
Gas Off RPM = 35
HOLD/SHUT VALUES
Minimum Hold Revs = 50
Maximum Hold Revs = 160
Shut Revs - Lo = 20
Shut Revs - Hi = 170
Shut EGT Lo = 150
High Hold EGT = 680
Shut EGT - Hi = 800
RAMPING VALUES
Ramp Switch - Lo = 15
Ramp Switch - Hi = 85
Ramp Up - Lo = 4
Ramp Down - Lo = 6
Ramp Up - Mid = 5
Ramp Down - Mid = 5
Ramp Up - Hi = 4
Ramp Down - Hi = 4
PHYSICAL VALUES
Glow Driver = 240
Pulses/Rev = 1
Make sure you run through the "Learn R/C Parameters" for your particular transmitter.
Good Luck!

Michael:
The engine is designed to run all day at 160k! Don't be afraid to run it that way.
I have my start ramp (on all 4 tht I've had a hand in building) set at 45 with real good results.
I have my max rpm at 175k and max egt at 720.
Will this work anywhere? I live and fly at 7000' and go to events at 300'......and don't have to touch the engine.
Enjoy the combination you have. It's hard to beat!

And dont forget that with the GB hobbies you should do a "SET MAX RPM" test When the turbine is running, scroll through the tcu menu and follow the directions from there.

i have entered the new specs. i get gas to ignite but then the pump does not switch on? the temp runs to 800 then cool down starts.
must i replace the pump, or what setting should i do. cant i set the max RPM when turbine is off? i got it going sort-off but the RPM kept climbing. i went above 160,000 then cool down. must say this turbine was built by another chap from the kit about 3 years ago. that is why i am scared the thing will blow up.
could the turbine be dirty inside.
would you guys recommend i update the software of the TCU.

ok have gotten the turbine started. when i reach 90 000 rpm there is a odd almost vibration but once i pass 125 000 it is gone what could it be.
also the line going into the Lube plug how much must i restrict it? how do i know the one i am using is right.
