No you are wrong, Cato build the plug himself from balsa, and then made the moulds, i know because i watched the process and thought he was crazy. So uncljoe, do some research before you make this kind of statement.

I do believe that the ORIGINAL came from a design from Grumman Aircraft Corp. Bethpage Long Island ,NY . Scale was 1 to 1 and that Cleveland Plans were available in 1949 althought it was a XF9F 1

RE: NEW PST F9F PANTHER
The so called "PST version 1" Panthers were not made by PST. They were made in Thailand but had nothing to do with PST. PST does not produce or market these Panthers. In addition, the first Panther referred to was not PST's and it was owned by Mr. Rune from Norway.

Terry--Ya beat me to it!!!---Kind of funny that the Panther that Mr. Cato accused PST of splashing is exactly the same size as a Ziroli Panther....So---Nick Ziroli does all of the hard work/engineering so that Cato can make a plug, claiming that he did all of the work that someone else stole from him...
That new PST Panther is one helluva nice kit---It's on my list of planes to build sometime in the future..... [sm=thumbup.gif] I wonder how many of these are in the states???

RE: NEW PST F9F PANTHER
Whoa there, I have no idea where anyone got the idea that I said this was designed by Cato or whomever, I never did. I purchased the palne in Nick's picture from Kraivtuh who works with PST. It is similar to the new PST Panther, but only in size. There are very little similarities past that point. Ipurchased five of these fuses through a bulk deal which I paid to have shipped by boat to me from Thialand. The newer PST Panther I recieved via air freight from Thailand. Don't go putting words in my mouth, I have no idea who designed what, except to say that I have dealt with PST for a few years and they are a very reputable and honorable company. Kraivuth and those he work with have always done what they told me they would do and I have trusted them to do so. The fuse that Nick purchased from me, and a few other RCU members as well, was just that, a fuse with laser formers, canopy and tip tanks, just like I recieved them, for what I paid for them, nothing more, if anything I lost money just to get them here. I was going on what I was told. The fuse will work with Ziroli wing cores, but it is not a Ziroli design, I know beacuse I have one of those as well, and the formers are not the same.
I used the term "version 1", but should not have, too bad on my part, and I apologize to PST and any others for doing it. Obviously I miscommunicated something in the translation over the past months.

RE: NEW PST F9F PANTHER
The first PST Panther kit has arrived in Australia for review in RCJI. Just spent some time unpacking it and got some initial impressions. The quality is up there with the very, very best, and the prefabrication is way ahead of anything I have seen. As an enthusiastic user of PST engines which have behaved to perfection for me, ( power on demand) , I have to conclude that this first kit is entirely in keeping with PST's engine quality. Landing gear is top quality and cockpit "tub" more than convincing.
Full review of the kit to follow in RCJI.

RE: NEW PST F9F PANTHER
Now had some time to take a close look at this kit and do the photography for RCJI :
Mouldings are top quality, no air bubbles just under the gelcoat unlike some. Joins very good indeed. Layup strength and CF reinforcement looks perfect.
Everything seems to be already installed in the fuselage which has laser cut wood components. Glue joints excellent. Quite exeptional completeness.
Wings excellent and even the holes and slots for the hinges are predone. Control surfaces are finished ready to install.
Gear doors speedbrakes and flaps are supplied but installation is upto the builder, its really the only "construction " work.
Double walled tailpipe is first class.
If there is a "piece de resistance" in this kit its the gear and wheels, absolutely gorgeous engineering as one would expect from PST who make such lovely engines. Wheels are VERY scale, quite superb. Never seen ANY gear with less "slop" in the moving parts. Scissor links are very taut.
Instruction manual is supplied on a CD and is 36 pages long, NOTHING is left to the imagination. and as far as I can see, before assmbling th kit, virtually every accessory is supplied.
Having seen the US price this kit is extraordinary value.
I have never really been a Panther/ Cougar fan but it is beginning to really attract me not least because the landing gear is installed in the fusleage which means it can travel on its wheels and assembly at the field will be dead simple, like the BobCat.
PST have an absolute winner here, lets hope it is the first of many kits from them.
Regards,
David Gladwin.

David,
Is there any possibility of photos of the wheels/gear?
Thanks,
JA

Here's a photo of the gear and wheels from the Panther I'm building. Its one of PST's preproduction kits, but I don't believe there were any further refinements made to the gear so this should be accurate with what's being shipped now.
Thanks,
Kelly
PS: Happy Father's Day guys!

RE: NEW PST F9F PANTHER
There are more pictures and information on www.pstna.com and www.pstjets.com
The landing gear set is very complete including Hydraulic Brake which can easily be fitted for air system, if preferred.
In addition, David's Panther is the current production batch and PSTNA should have them in stock by July. Panther is availalble thru our current dealers so please contact them for more information. The Panther manual is included in PST e-Manual CD and we will get it up for download soon. The file is quite large since there are more than 150 colored pictures.

RE: NEW PST F9F PANTHER
Dear Reuben.
We are the Scandinavia agents for PST JETS. The price for PST Panther ARF, delivered here less local VAT, is approx. 1.250,- Euro. The price to you should be somewhat less, but of course with any local taxes your end in addition. Hope this helps!

RE: NEW PST F9F PANTHER
Hello WD40, Dean at Helijet will have the Panthers very soon. Panthers are in stock at PST Jets Thailand and available for those who need rush orders and willing to pay the extra airfreight cost which is, unfortunately, approx US$300-400 from Bangkok to the USA, Europe, or Australia.
