Oh yes? What happened to the Wren SS thread where a Jetcat dealer was allowed to post HIS version of the performance figures for the Wren SS showing it in a bad light compared to the Jetcat P60 / 70 / 80. Of course we all know that Jetcats have the best fuel consumption/ power to weight/ acceleration / service of any turbine, and anyone who does not support those particular myths just isn't getting the message.
Back to the point, this thread is meant to be about the Flash, how did we get around to arguing about Jetcat?

Let us not hijack this thread.
As a WREN rep, you should never make any sarcastic comments about JETCAT products. It is just that simple.
Thanks in advance for your understanding.

you need to lighten up a little
people who feel offended should not fly jets in the first place
it was clear it was a joke and something i am sure Dave can laugh about...
sandor out..

My Son is Buzz Kill and I'm to lazy to sign in so I wanted to post about my new Flash that I received today.. My first impression was of concern when I opened the box and found that there was not a double box for shipping, there was a few broken pieces of foam inside around the wing area but no apparent damage was found.. I was impressed with the coloring and the checker scheme..After unrapping all of the bubble wrap I found that I had all the nessesary parts at this point and also found the fuel tank which is for the fuse and not the wing...bummer I am going to use a P120 and would like to have the wing tank.. the other thing was no instructions, but after reading the downloaded sheets I found that the instrutions would come later per Comp-arf...Great looking plane, cant wait to get started on this bird..Very light and should be a great flying very fast plane...Larry

Larry,
If you didn't get the wing tank, then did you get the bypass? You should have gotten one or the other according to the instructions.
Also, I think you need to download the instructions (go here: http://www.composite-arf.com/ar/Product?671000 and click on the Download Instructions link). I doubt they will send them to you if they aren't in the kit...

we finished the Jet-1A gear for the flash.
as you all can see it will be a very cool looking Gear.(i think)
same setup almost as the boomerang XL gears and oleo,s.
this means you can take off from the worst conditions of Grass or runways.
we have put special designer wheels for the mains size 88MM and 60 MM as a front wheel.
also a big advantage is that as you lose air in a "i forgot" scenario the gears will automaticly come out.
there is also no need for double action valves and less connections are needed!.
there is also no need to "flatten"any pin as described in the manual.
these gears are drop in from the package.
here are some pictures.

looks as though the outer door covers will no longer fit properly since you had to grind out so much of the strut well to make it fit. does not look like a proper set-up to me

i knew something like this would come up.believe me there is only 3mm cut out,to go aside the well.
and all will fit just fine, otherwise i would not offer it in the first place.
the gear fits , the wells will fit (small adjustment needed).
on the picture i have not mounted them yet (wells) since they dont fit "like the glove" as c-arf mentioned it in the manual.
and as i followed the instruction manual you need to cut out more for the behotec to fit in the first place.
so please be constructive and not trying to bash it.

What is the cost of the Jet 1-A Gear.
Does the model sit closer to the ground? Will it be easier to rub the stab tips during rotation?
I like the looks and functionality of this set-up.

costs are 629 euro,s (us price) however including all piping , bottle 2 x jet tronics electronic valves (normal price about 80usd a piece)
filler plugs festo stuff etc etc.
shipping courier to usa 70 euro,s (dhl)
shipping at snail mail 32 euro,s (2 weeks)
model does not sit closer to the ground , the only time it will sit more closely to the ground is when you landed to hard
and the springs have been stretched over the limit (others will have the oleo,s stick thru the wing).

as for the jet-1a oleo,s there is ONLY 3mm gone that is 1/3 of the lower end of that small well connection.
so no problem and as soon the wells are in you wont see a thing believe me..

Just to go back to your initial post for a moment. I need to get the CG position clear in my mind.
The 360mm is measured FORWARD from the rear of the tip tanks? (I obviously can't see it being the other way around, but normally CG position is given from leading edge at fuselage).
Thanks mate

Congratulations to you guys that got your flashes. Can anyone comment on the new main tank and what the capacity is? I am looking forward to getting my flash in the air when it gets here. Looks like a very easy build and quick too. I hope to get the full bypass, the wing tank does not interest me as I am fitting a wonderful sounding, very powerful and cool running Wren supersport. Please show more pictures and comment on fit and finish. How is the hardware? Same ol comp-arf stuff? I've got a pile of equipmet waiting for the flash!
Nice retracts Sandor (Cheese Head)!!!! Love those springs.

Yes, forward from the rear of the tip tank.
It's an easy way to measure it from a fixed in stone datum, most people pick the model up by the tip to check so its a good position to mark it.
360-365mm forward from the rear of the tip tank is a good position with dry tanks. C of G move foward a fraction with full tanks.
The larger fuse tank is now just over 2ltrs (about 72oz)

it is basicly simpler to build this one then a Rookie II if you ask me.(and that is very simple)
and if i hadnt so much work at the moment i am sure one can build it within 2 days.
finish could be a bit better there are some flaws on the painting job , however i think those little guys had some pressure to get them done.
a finger print here and there with ca but nothing that can not be solved.
wingdowels also glued in.
for the supersport guys like me the main tank is more then enough , leaves us lucky *******s with a free !full wingtank of smoke!

i couldnt care less about the full ducting , since we got a nice standard fod screen from Wren.
the hardware is indeed standard.
funny note: in the picture manual on c-arf webpage you can see there is a rusted rod to lock your cockpit.
looked funny to me , especialy when you find extactly the same rusted rod in the box
.my servo plates for the elevators where indeed of,however i dont see a problem i wil fill the holes with some epoxy
and drill 4 new holes.
i am not waiting for new plates.
the thrust pipe is again the asian version of a rain drain as i call them and wil put it on ebay very soon.
i will exchange it for a handmanufactured one from the uk infact it comes from Rotherham
.again will save me from weight in the nose, and have more thrust in the end.

They look really good.
Any news on the Spark now the Flash is shipping?
I like the look of the Flash but I want to wait and see what motor will be needed for the little one before thinking about spending my hard earned cash.

Sometime yet, they are not producing enough Flash kits yet, so Spark will be sometime late this year.
It will be MW44-54/P60 size P60 is as big as it will take.
I find it is best to forget the Spark and be nicely surprised when the release creeps up on you.
