If you decide you want to get together with 9 other people, send the deposits made out to DiamondStar Composites 3121 N. Alfalfa Loop Post Falls, Idaho 83854.
SHOOT I just ran out of checks! Wouldn't you know it! I am sure by the time I get new checks all of the deposit slots will be gone!

Don't worry matt - I'm sure that a money order would be acceptable too !

Edit - just noticed in tracy's marketplace ad (http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=147435) that he will accept Money Order ~ Cashier Check ~ Personal Check ~ COD ~ Visa ~ MasterCard ~ American Express ~ Discover - so your lack of checks is definitey not a problem. What are you waiting for ?

Mark,
Just another stupid idea, but what if they move the Shuttle about 2 or 3 feet farther away from the tank, so if anything comes off it will miss. I think the chunk that hit Columbia would have cleared in that case. They would only need to re-engineer the structure between the tank and orbiter, the attachments would basically remain the same. It would only change the flight dynamics slightly and they could reprogram the Shuttles nozzle angles to make up for the slight change in configuration. I believe they have it engineered now so that the Shuttle thrust and SRB thrust matches very closely so there is minimal stress on the attachments, so a little longer attachments shouldn't cause any problems. They could do an analysis to confirm that it would be impossible for any foam to come far enough away from the tank to hit the orbiter. What do ya think?

Tracy,
Please tell us about your 1981 Nassau trip. Were there any stars along? Pictures would be great! My office is only 30 seconds from the airport in Stuart so I will not need much notice when you pop in with all the bunnies. Give me a little notice and I will have plenty of media present to cover the occasion. Did you consider the feasability of a supersonic Starjet yet?
I am still working on the other 9 virginStarjetIs

make your molds and your prototype and ten have composite arf build your kits. if thay be good enought for BV, then they can make glasskittycats.

Also, you won't have to put a help-wanted add out in the Frost Bite Falls Newspaper.

And to top it all off the you can tell the first 10 that the shipment is being held up in customs.

No chance Tracy. I don't know where you got the SSME & SRB thrust is almost the same line. Not even close! The SRBs are almost 3 million pounds per! That idea can not work at all. All of the moments arms would increase for all of the load that dumps into the ET, meaning a total redesign of the tank, not to mention the whole system (flight dynamics, lift/drag, Orbitet & ET squatcheloids, Debris Transport Analysis, etc.. and on forever). It takes months just to get a new TPS spray qualified in this post-Columbia environment, and you wanna redesign the whole thing! Ten years at a minimum (just like a GlassCat!).

Now back to Merkin Talk!!!

OMG --- I am not sure how I missed this but I just read it from start to finish ... this is the best stuff I think I have ever seen on RCU. I do thing maybe I have come up with an answer to one of the questions.. I have uncovered information that his building assistant (AKA Mr. Pubic hair) and his new test pilot are indeed the same man, one caption William Buck Rogers.
I heard he just got back from a deep space probe

BTW, for the guys who played with the first evolution of the Glasscat... did you guys check to see whether the glue is really what you think it is? Maybe that cream colored bead between the formers & the glass skin isn't really Aeropoxy [X(]

Yo Dude !
You have a unique problem,I just can't believe both your union and employer turned against you ... what gives ???? I always thought one was either on the union side or management's never to come to agreement unless the guns are on the table. What union represented you ?NATCA ? Also what was your GS title ? 2152 ?. Why was a judge in Ohio issue the injuction rather than one in Washington state ?
Just to let you know the pay banding is not Too bad, raises are on performance, not time on job. A LONG time employee of the FAA.
