Good to see that he has an extensive preflight check-list tho....
I saw that! He needs to add:
3: Check for clean underwear
4: Check that insurance is paid

C'mon guys, this thing could work really well. Though he could have saved some weight by using a lawn chair.

thats around 400lbs of thrust on that pack ... hey, if a turbine fails ( which it very well might, as looks like these are USA-AMTs ) the thrust ofset between the 2 sides will flip him over .... i would actually add one of these to run the left/right side ECUs with, and that would add a little bit of compensation to any thrustofset by automatically varying the throttles ...

What about chimichangas? For extra afterburning lift?

Someone needs to introduce this guy to Tracey. Then he could have a suitable airframe for his project.

Are you kidding me, this guy is Tracy's cousin!!!!!! Look on the front of the
control panel, www.skywalkerjets.com, and check out the questions on ebay.
This is good stuff!!!!!!

"good for Sky Diving" yeah, now thats a good idea, maybe him and
tracy can tandem!!!!!!!! Nothing like melted harness and canopy
before you pull that red cord!!!!!!!!

(that price on ebay is only to NAME the thing, not buy it)

Crater Maker 2 fits the bill!!!!!!!!

If he wants to man-rate that booster he's gonna need triple redundant RPM sensors and everything else!

The budget is 1.7 Mil for 100 units with 50% up front. Can you pass the background checks for clearance?

Todd,
I was born in the US, had a secret clearance in the Navy, and worked for the Federal Government for 21 years, so I don't think there will be a problem.

You left out the part about being involved in a lawsuit against your Federal Government employer.

OK, the only major concern on the aircraft sent to Richard was the aluminum spar tube size and location, and the hinge issue, and that he would have had to do some work to get the canopy attachments done. As I said the aluminum tube issue has been fixed for a stronger wing. I will post the photos proving there were proper hinge blocks. Mark can be honest and verify that it is the same wing, showing the holes that Richard cut.

What does anything on R/C U have to do with a background check?

What about the flexible, floppy large aspect ratio outer wing panels? True, a proper spar will stiffen them a bit, but I was awfully concerned that those babies were gonna turn out to be an in-flight flutter laboratory in action! If you limit Vmax to 100 mph, it might be OK. But don't try to go faster! Now if you put some span-wise carbon fiber in the top & bottom: problem solved.

What does excersizing my right to take a Federal Employer to court when they have violated pay regulations, and committed a wrong against me (and others) have to do with a background check? Are you saying the courts were established for this purpose, but if you use them then they hold it against you?

I am quite positive that they would not hold that against you.

Yep loose an engine and you'd be like the multi engine bomber that
landed in the windshield of Frank T's rental car. (crasher 2, I think)

Thats if it got off the ground???????? The parachute thing gets me thinking,
where would you put it, what would happen when you pulled the cord?
Would you squeeze the fuel out of the tanks, get covered in Jet-A, have
a smoke on the way down and turn into a human para-flare?

Mark,
I just went in a got the wing you are talking about and put it on my lap, with the root edge over my right leg, and the 1/3 point over my left leg, and pushed as hard as I could downward on the tip (wing upside down). The wing is 30 inches long, not including the protrubing tubes. With a metal yardstick over the surface, pushing as hard as I could, the outer tip deflected between 1/4 and 3/8 inch. I tried to twist the wing and it is VERY stiff, maybe offsetting the trailing edge at the tip about 1/16 inch, and it was as hard as I could try to twist. Keep in mind that this is the OUTER wing. At least HALF of the lift is accomplished by the wing center area (between the booms). So from the centerline of the airplane to the wing tip is about 45 inches. When a 737 flies you can see a considerable amount of flex to the wing. Granted this is not an aluminum structure, but stiffer composite, but 3/8 flex over 45 inches from center to tip is not bad at all. I suppose with more carbon fiber you could get it to 1/16 flex, but I don't think that this wing, with 50% lift accomplished by the center, and each wing panel contributing about 25-30% of lift would fail at all. Improvements can almost always be made, so I will make the future wings more bulletproof, and there has to be a certain amount of "overkill", but it can also get ridiculous.

I think AirChair Sandpounder would be good. I think we will have a Darwin Award winner in Cable, Ohio. Looks like the main problem, other than the obvious, is his CG and Center of Thrust. Doesn't look very controllable. Hey, how about "Sooey Sider 3000".

That would be here....http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=147435

It's the one that has been changed for the umpteenth time. Now he is only taking deposit's and upped the price. Desperate Housewife's doesn't hold a candle to Tracy. He's still cutting you a hell of a deal if you make a deposit though.

Oh, I'm sorry Mark...I missed the

Oh, that ad. That photo is VERY old! I love this line "CANOPY WILL BE PRODUCED WITH PERFECT FLUSH TO FUSELAGE FLAT MATING SURFACES WITHOUT EXTRA FIBER CONTENT." No "extra fiber"!!! Woj, Tracy needs you to contribute, HA!
