RE: PST F-84G Build Thread
alright, switching gears a bit. This girl is going to its new home soon and needs a shipping jig to transport it. Here is the main fuselage section jig that will tie into the spar formers to carry the load of transportation, the plane will ship with the nose gear extended to add stability and share the load.

Just need to build the aluminum angles to plug into the spar extrusions. This should keep the fuselage locked in place and stable for transport. Just need to whip one out for the aft fuselage section and she should be good to go.

Here is the jig that will carry the tail section for transport, I added a cradle with in the front brace to secure the tail pipe for support as well. These shipping jigs should get the job done, she has a long trip home...

Thanks Jason. I am a little retarded so I use DeltaCAD, very powerful for $30.00 and easy to use! DeltaCAD has a 30 day trial that is fully functional The laser is definately a lifesaver, was a really steep learning curve and put a smoking hole in my bank account, but has been really fun!!!

Thanks Rene! Glad that you got the nose gear working, I still have to rework the uplock portion of the cam to keep the gear from binding in the up position and I should be down to CG. I will have the Elevator rod support done up with in the next week as well and will get one out to you.

RE: PST F-84G Build Thread
Well, we are closing in on the finish line. The nose gear cam track was reworked to make it work the right way, and some electical issues were worked out. The tail pipe support bushing was machined and I threw together the landing gear support jigs to help stabilize the airplane during assembly and maintenance. Just a couple more odds and ends and I will be down to CG calculations. She is heading home next saturday

Here is the elevator control rod support. Should be down to CG now, I hope! I have a couple other cool little things up my sleeve, but will spring them on the owner when he shows up to get her.

Rene,
I think I am starting to get post partum depression already but at the same time I am ready to be done, kind of a love/hate relationship I guess!!! I will do up a rod support and get it out to you soon. As far as what is next??? I recently found out that I am deploying next month overseas again. Once I return and figure which way is up, I have a PST F-9F Panther to do for the same gentleman that owns the F-84 and then I am taking a break to work on my hot rod finally!!! Other projects that I will tinker with will be my Phoenix and a 12' wingspan B-52 static model for a friends shop.

RE: PST F-84G Build Thread
Well, I guess this is where I can actually call her finished!!! I am just down to doing CG and tinkering with little things until she makes the trip home on saturday, It has been a LONG bumpy road. Thanks to all the friends that helped me out along the way, the owner for being patient, my kids for helping destroy the shop, and most importantly to my wife, for not cutting my throat in my sleep, she endured many frustrating days!!! When I return from my deployment, I will dive into the Panther, Phoenix and my Hor Rod finally!!! I am going to try and take the plane into work and get a picture next to a KC-135R since both jets were SAC Warriors!!!
