RE: PST F-84G Build Thread
Thanks for the compliments guys! She took on a pretty healthy weathering today, I will try to get some pics outside if the sun is out tomorrow. Thanks to my buddy Chris Nicastro for his help on this phase of the project.

And pics under the sun. Time to start reassembling this girl so she can go to her new home. There will be some more pics when it is completely finished and the cockpit has been reworked.
As far as the paint masks go, I would not mind offering them...

Thanks Jerc! Already running through the next project in my head. The panther is going to have all the marking airbrushed on, no more dry transfers!!!! I am going to start reinstalling the parts tomorrow.

Nice. You sure your next project isn't the fuse for Lanier Laser? Just kidding. You may get a large box in the mail though. Maybe Lester can rebuild it and get another few years out of her.

Mail me the plans and what is left of the formers and I will cut you a new fuselage. Hmmm, the fridge is looking a little empty!

That is a very nice scheme and was very well executed. Well done Chris.
I noticed that you kept the original tires and wheels.
You might get problems with them very quickly ( bushing seizure, poor braking efficiency due to the brake system design )
I have changed these wheels with Aviation Design 1/6,8 scale Rafale wheels. The Falcon X wheel hub from AD matches the F-84G hub almost perfectly.
These wheels have very good tires, sealed ball bearing, powerful o-ring brakes and are indestructible...

Nick, Unfortunatley I can't disclose the weathering process. It is a very tedious process though!!! Cold beer is the secret lol!!!

Thanks Andrew, this one is going to be hard to top but I will find some way to do it! Looking back, there is so much more I wished I could have done but you have to draw the line some where! I am happy with the way it turned out. Flight testing is probably going to be Octoberish. I will have the plane until the end of September so I have ample time to get everything back in order and some of the bugs worked out.

Looks great in the sun finally! That was fun dodging the rain on Saturday wasnt it...lol.
As Chris said the weathering technique is a secret process I introduced to Chris and Dean originally on Dean's PST Panther. It replicates real weathering in every detail and takes many hours to complete but the reward is unmatched realism you will not replicate with an airbrush alone. There are layers of wear and color you can really appreciate up close. The scale effect stands up to scrutinizing from a distance and as you walk closer the effect does not fall apart in fact it gets better and better the closer you are.
I hope we can build and show more jets and warbirds with this level of weathering effect in the near future because it will be very competitive in scale contests. Look out for Dean's jets in the near future at events and walk up close to see the finish.
