Default Combat Models Never again

Is there a way to reveal those guys real face to every R/C'er , I wish I did something harsh to them by the time they screwed up the whole deal, they must pay for the mistakes they done. I was too goodminded to think the situation was a FRAUD. my situation was way before the economic problems in USA, so Mr Bruce WAS LYING AGAIN. I CANT BELIEVE THEM, shooting lies around like they are the most honest people on this planet.COME ON WAKE UP!!

NO BUSSINES TO FRAUDERS and LIARS.

Default Combat Models Never again

greetings all,

I have a CBM story...
I have their A-10 (NOT purchased from them!) converted to twin DF, the plane is beautiful ON THE GROUND... in the air it is the WORST thing I have ever flown! Very high pucker factor- you couldn't pull a pin out of my *** with a tractor. NOW it is gutted and hanging on the wall as a trophy.
FYI

Default Nothing has changed!

I went through the exact same thing years ago (1995 I believe) when they first introduced the "new" F-16, only then it was not e-mails, but expensive phone calls. This was before the kit was even out, I was on the pre-order list. The excuse list was long, but I did finally get it. Disappointed with the whole CBM thing and would advise everyone to just stay away and avoid the headache. It doesn't look like they have changed at all, but actually got WORSE. I didn't even have to wait a year on a non-released kit.

Default cmodels

I have purchased the A10, F16n and the F18,and all directly , from the factory.I have had no problems(other than the wait on gear, but I wasnt foolish enough to give a deposit when the company was very vague about when it was going to be delivered).
My history was as follows,I got on the pre-order list for the 16,got mine in the first batch sent, everything was there.I ordered the A10 with intensions of going D.F. ,but went pusher due to cost.
I ordered the 18 at the release of it,after much deliberation,as the price had gone up terribly(I paid 119.00 for the 16,300.00 plus shipping-yikes...).
I waited for the gear, and waited, after many emails, all of wich were returned, but none with a reassuring answer,I gave up and sold the kit.The 18 defenitly had a lot of scale potential, and the gear was what sold it for me,they really made those offered by that ducted fan company look sad.
I finally did get an email stating they were to be delivered, long after I sold the kit,but the price went way up,they were originally to be 299.00,and ended up being 399.99 if I remember correctly.
I have seen most of the combat models planes fly , and the only one that looked at all hairy was the 15,hard to keep it light.
I read someone had difficulties with the A 10 somewhere above,it really must have been yours- because I have seen(and flown 2) that were great flyers, one was a pusher, the other has kress fans with 15's or 21's ,I cannot remember.
I certainly cannot speak for anyone else, but I have not had any serious problems with the company,They offer a great product,(but its getting pricey-I mean come on --its styro foam, not like it need constant tooling updated!), and I have had every email, and phone call returned, even if it wasnt right away.
I am in no way trying to downplay the troubles people have had with this company,no one should be treated as such, but to be fair it also should be known that there are people out there like myself(unless I'm the only one) that have had a mostly positive experience with combat models.
I had a nightmare experience with Byron Originals when they were in business, and when I told people of it ,they assured me I was mistaken, or it had to be a one time thing. The quote from the above post about the bear definetly rings true.

I went through a similar problem with CBM a few years ago. I ordered my F-16 and found they were quite fast retrieving my money, but not sending the plane. After three months of emails and phone calls (none returned), I had a lawyer friend go aftr them. You would belive how fast they moved then! There were also numerous missing parts which after letting them know, they would send right out. So, if you know anyone who is a lawyer, maybe you can get them to send CBM a nasty letter threatening legal litigation. I have also heard that you can contact the FBI as they crack down hard on interstate commerce fraud. Just my $.02 worth.

Hey all, i've got a question. Does anyone know what song is playing in the background on the CBM A-10 video when they have the footage of the Real A-10 doing low level strafing runs? I think its by Pink Floyd but not sure and i don't know the name. any help would be awesome!!!

Kyle,
I have done my share of trying to reach them as well and to no avail. E-mail me when you get this as I have something that belongs to you.

P.S. After reading the RC Universe, it sounds like a few guys chatting with each other and considering we've sold thousands of F/A-18's, F-16N's, A-10's, F-15's, and F-16T's, we are, although sad about the bad comments, happy to report we have thousands of happy customers you may never hear from."

i've heard this one from retailers all over the place...it must be great to be so blissfully ignorant.

retailer NEVER hear from disgruntled customers for more than the reason that they dont have any.

Most people who are unhappy will just do nothing and place the silent protest by not shopping there anymore.

It's funny that a manufacturer would even consider posting this if they really took retail and their customers seriously...and i mean every single one of them.

Rather than make the throw away statement of "we've sold thousands with no complaints...), why not "even though we sell alot of product, we do realise we make mistakes, but can only correct them when advised..we would be more than happy to ensure that....blah blah"...

This is probably why some companies do make it, and some dont. in fact im sure of this. I've long said that the retailer doesnt have to like a customer for whatever reason, but why cant they just see that patronage is the lifeblood, smile and say "yes sir," (the customer's always right), then go home and relax on the patio you made from your thriving business and throw darts at customer's effigies?

works for me!

btw i only read page 1 of this thread so my post here might be old news now...sigh..too lazy to read 3 pages..

cheers,

tim.

ps, nice work terry on the tga thing.

Well I feel for you guys. I actually got lucky and bought mine from Tower Hobbies when they were still selling them. My kit was missing the spectra string. Needless to say I could never get a hold of CBM. I just went to the fabric store...I took my mom with me so I didn't feel like a fruit...Anyways I bought some elastic cord and modified the gear myself. Blah Blah Blah. I bought everything seperately so I missed all the b.s. but as far as the model goes i'm really happy the way it turned out. Things may have changed though because I bought and built it about 8 years ago. Sounds like their customer service leaves much to be desired. Anyways I attatched a photo of my finished plane which again is 8 years old, the motor is out in the pic but I put a JETT .50 in it with a tuned pipe and a 10X10 prop...It SCREAMS!!! Who cares about the ducted fan. You can't see the prop when it's doing over 100mph anyways!

A report to the BBB, perhaps the Atty. Gen. for that state, consumer fraud div., however, forget wasting money on hiring any attorney for this, you would be spinning your wheels, not to mention wasting good money after bad. If the help doesn't arrive after posted as above, then do some homework and make/buy what you need. This is a builder's kit anyway, always figure on doing more than what it called for.
