Default How to program Dreamworks afterburner light

The afterburner light I bought from Dreamworks came with a German user manual. I could not find an electronic version of this manual and I would prefer to avoid typing the manual to be able to use Google translate...

Anyhow, any of you know how to program the unit. The circuit has one button.

I'm talking about this unit: http://www.dreamworksrc.com/catalog/...oducts_id=1240

Thanks

Arnaud

Arnaud - if all else fails, how about scanning the manual in and then using OCR followed by google or babel translation ? I forget what software I used for this, but I did this OCR method a few years ago for a fairly large manual. If you can get a German spell checker to run on the initial output of the OCR run, that could further improve the results.

Thanks Gordon. Good idea, I'll try the scan OCR option.

Arnaud,
Here is the procedure:
- Position throttle: full throttle
- Press programming-switch (hold 1 sec) After an initialization sequence, LED 1+3+4+5 are lit.
- Now bring your gas stick in the position where AB function should be OFF.
- Press programming-switch. LEDs will flash, then will be lit permanently
- Now bring your Throttle stick to the position where you desire the AB ON
- Press programming-switch. After an initialization sequence, LEDs will be lit permanently
- AB Module returns to normal operation mode. You are finished.
If Anything went wrong with the programming, Remove power supply, wait 10 seconds, switch power supply on and restart the procedure.

Hey guys,

What batteries are you using to power these AB rings? I have one going into a mirage and am hoping to use a 2s lipo?

Hi Jeff,

Just wanting to make sure that a 2s lipo can be plugged in directly without any kind of regulator (the german instructions say 6v max as best I can decipher). So, it sounds like it can be. Time to get that 2s lipo ordered then.

Tod says it works best on 7.2v

Take care.

I use a 2S lipo with a small regulator because the user manual, if I remember properly, recommends 6v<div>

For the standard single row rings, best to stick with 6V. For the triple light ring that Jeff has, they are designed to be run at 7.2V.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!,

i bought the triple ring from Todd back in April and had it working on my small f16 for a month and was working perfect.
I took it off to prepare it for installation on the big f16 and today i was checking everything that is ok for tomorrows santas show at the field.
i use 7.4v lipo 2200mah and switched it on.All 5 lamps on the controller blink and then stay on so do all 3 ring lights and stay lit.
i tried to see what is wrong with it and try to reprogram it as per Todds instructions here.
i dont remember where i put the ones that came with it.
same problem again and am puzzled. has the controller gone kaput? anybody else had same problem.?
