Katt with New Turbines in the 1200.00 range You might have trouble unloading them, what do you think you want for them?
What NEW turbines cost $1200????? You need to start researching before blabbing dude. No different than the ''BVM'' Bobcat you had for sale, the ''Bandit'' and numerous others.....
I am SOOOO GLAD someone else called him out on this... I'm so tired of seeing this "con-man" spreading his CRAP on here.. RCU should really get rid of him, especially after his "BVM bobcat" and "bandit" sales ads.. . hell people flag the add as fraudulent and rcu doesn't do anything about it....

But i to, would like to see these "new" turbines for $1200... or maybe he's just trying to sucker yet someone else into his bad cars salesman act.

Took the turbine out and had a couple of people look at it and they all agreed send it in to be repaired. So I pack up the trailer and just sit and watch on Sunday. When I get home I take the plane into the work shop and test the starter again, Guess what.... it worked fine no binding what so ever. Call Eric on Monday he told me to try and start the plane and call him back.Take the plane outside fuel it get it all ready to go and it locked up.. Bring it back in 30 min later its fine. It seems when it's cold it locks up until it gets warm... It was around 36* on Sunday morning at Hamburg and 42* at my house on Monday Morning. So I guess I need to keep a heat gun in my flight box to start it up.

you dont happen to use 2 cycle outboard marine oil do you?

This is a general observation, and not intended to address Katt's specific problems.

I have owned 18 turbine engines more or less evenly split between JetCat and Jet Central. I can tell you heartwarming and not so heartwarming stories about each manufacturer, but the bottom line is, they are both reputable companies. They just aren't perfect.

They are small businesses, and that means you will run into inconsistencies and problems with either if you own enough of their products for a long enough time. They simply don't have enough employees and capital to fund the kinds of quality assurance and support programs that some of these posts imply that people expect.

Dragging them through the mud here on RCU in the name of protecting others simply does no one any good. If you have problems with one of the companies, I would really encourage you to quietly take your business elsewhere to end your frustration. But I will tell you that if you expect perfection on the other side of the hill, you simply won't find it.

Expect generally great products with occasional frustrations and you won't be disappointed.

I have 4 jet central turbines. Very satisfied with Eric & jet cental. Eric has always done what he said he would do and been more than fair on all levels. I am surprised by negative post and there are two sides to every story!!!!

From those pictures shown it sure looks like a blade was thrown which could have possibly caused the large nick.
It really would be nice if a picture of the whole compressor blades be shown. For sure it would be known if a blade was thrown.

I've blended many fan blades during my career of aircraft maintenance. And I know what impacts cause what type of nicks on blades from rocks to metal objects. That blade that was lost in the blurry rear portion (2:00 position) of the pic that was posted sure looks like its what caused that large nick. Man, it looks like its right in the path of that damaged (nicked blades) arc.

Could it have been possible that a blade broke off and then bounced off the FOD screen and finally ingested back into the turning compressor which caused the big nick we see posted? I've seen such thing happen before!

Totally agree that this should be settled under warranty.

Kat, I hope this gets resolved for you soon.

Cheers,

I guess I am to blame the post man, and assume he stole and fraudently sent the return reciept... ????

Katarina Connors a.k.a. Katt

Hmmm.... Like the two EV5U valves shipped to you, claimed it was not received yet delivery confirmed? A replacement sent anyway and you reversed payment on the credit card

My personal experience With "Katt", she is a liar and a thief! I have a list of stories from numerous vendors about how Katerina has either tried to, or has screwed them.....

there is no such thing as a lifetime warranty..this is the cause of most of the dissatisfaction..including mine...once you realize that turbines are simple little things that you can fix yourself..you will fare better with the manufactuers..it the same reason there are two prices at the mechanich shop..one for the men who know whats what ..and another for the blonde who doesnt..I recomend everyone get.

Indeed...I shall 2nd that thought. Eric kindly and efficiently had a Rabbit shipped to SuperJets South from the factory overnight when my P-70 blew itself to shreds at the meet. I installed it into the BoliCat and man does it haul the mail!

I used to think my Super Eagle was a smooth starter but this has it beat hands down.

Man that rabbit is hauling butt. the spool-up time seems right on too. I'v been bellyaching about a new turbine for 6 month's and come Xmas gonna do it. I had just about Dicided on one of Todds Kingtech 80's but may have to talk to him or Eric about this rabbit. I guess it don't matter which one. I like to deal with the Reg dealers so they will stick around for us. Either one of them is tops from what I can see. Thanks for the posting Rich.

Remember the story about me destroying my brand new Rhino on the bench when running it for the first time? Remember me saying I had bought it "2nd hand" even thought it was never run? Remember me saying Eric and Felipe replaced it for free because...and I quote "Accidents just happen from time to time"? Remember me saying the even more interesting thing was that Eric did not even know me...other than making two phone calls to him asking if I would have any warranty coverage if I bought the motor off of RCU he did not know me from the Man in the Moon.?

Well...you know what? Do you want to know why they covered the damage? Eric told me more than anything...he appreciated my honesty in relaying the particulars of the accident. It struck him as refreshing that when he asked what happened...I clearly told him right off of the bat that "I screwed up...I blew it up because I was stupid". 5 days later I had a new motor...free. All he said was "Don't do it again!".

Now, more than likely I burned up the "be stupid and get another one for free" engine program at Jet Central, but since then I have had 3 Super Bees, a Rabbit, two Super Eagles, three Rhinos and a Turbo Prop is on the way.
